On 30 March 2023, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Dominants of Socio-Economic Development of Ukraine in New Realities” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The event was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksandra Olshanska, who invited the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko to deliver a welcoming speech on the occasion of the opening of the Conference.
In her speech, Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko congratulated the participants, guests and organisers of the All-Ukrainian Conference on behalf of the Rector of the University, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Ivan Hryshchenko and wished everyone productive work, emphasising the importance of the conference platforms in wartime. The Vice-Rector focused on the relevance and timeliness of holding youth scientific forums of this scale, called for interesting and rich reports and discussions, wished everyone creative success and a speedy Victory over the enemy and peace on our land.
Having thanked the Vice-Rector for his greetings, moderator Oleksandra Olshanska noted that more than 150 students, postgraduates and teachers of higher education institutions from many regions of Ukraine, representatives of scientific and governmental institutions, business and public organisations took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Dominants of Socio-Economic Development of Ukraine in New Realities”.
Ireneusz Żuchowski, Doctor of Engineering, Vice-Rector for Development, Promotion and EU Funds of the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Lomza (Poland), welcomed the participants of the Roundtable.
In his speech, he congratulated the participants and guests on the start of the Conference, emphasised its importance and relevance. Mr Ireneusz noted that the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża has long been cooperating with Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design in many areas, including the Erasmus+ K1 Programme - academic mobility of students and teachers, training of bachelor and master students under double degree programmes, project and research activities.
The guest of honour at the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students was Tetiana Cherpak, Deputy Head of the Department for Internal Policy and Public Relations – Head of the Public Relations and International Cooperation Division of the Department of Public Communications of the executive body of the Kyiv City Council (Kyiv City State Administration). In her greeting, Tetiana Valeriivna focused on the importance of the KCSA’s cooperation with the city’s higher education institutions, in particular, she stressed that such relations with Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design are systematic and productive. In particular, this concerns joint events for young people, such as meetings with well-known entrepreneurs, stakeholders and employers, internships for students in various departments of the city administration, job fairs, etc. In addition, Tetiana Cherpak personally cooperates with the Department of Marketing and Communication Design and acts as a stakeholder and guest practitioner.
Bekir Suleymanov, a well-known entrepreneur and businessman, co-founder and CEO of TAKAVA LLC, volunteer and public figure, congratulated the students and postgraduates on the start of the Conference. In his speech, he shared his own experience of creating and promoting a business idea, emphasised the importance of gaining professional knowledge in economics, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, finance and accounting, as well as the important competencies required to start a business, and wished all those present intense scientific discussions and interesting reports. It should be noted that Mr Bekir Suleymanov has long been cooperating with the University, in particular with the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business as a stakeholder, as well as a guest expert and jury member of the startup competition.
Vasyl Darkov, Chairman of the Board of the All-Ukrainian Association of Insurance Consumers “Insurance Protection”, Association of Financial Market Participants of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee on Protection of Rights and Legal Interests of Consumers of Financial Services, expert of the National Bank for the Protection of Consumers of Financial Services, congratulated the participants and guests of the conference on the beginning of the work, noted that such events contribute to the development and deepening of professional knowledge and competencies of young scientists and students and wished everyone creative success. It is worth noting that Mr Vasyl Darkov cooperates with the Department of Finance and Business Consulting as a stakeholder and partner in the creation of a virtual educational and research laboratory on the protection of financial services consumers.
Oleksiy Petrivskyi, Head of Accordbank branch, invited expert of the Ukrainian Economic Outlook, expressed his sincere congratulations to the participants and guests of the Conference, wishing all those present productive cooperation, creative inspiration and scientific achievements. Mr Oleksii Petrivskyi is a graduate of our University, a postgraduate student of the Department of Smart Economics. Oleksiy also delivered a scientific report at the plenary session of the conference on the topic “The role of cryptocurrencies and the fintech industry under martial law in Ukraine”, which aroused great interest among the participants and a lively discussion.
In her greeting to the participants and guests of the Conference, Olha Oleksiivna Luchna, Director of First Pension Fund Administrator LLC, a well-known businesswoman and entrepreneur who cooperates with the Department of Smart Economics of KNUTD as a stakeholder and invited employer, emphasised the timeliness and relevance of the conference platforms.
During the plenary session of the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Dominants of Socio-Economic Development of Ukraine in New Realities”, the plenary session featured presentations by postgraduate and undergraduate students that provoked lively discussion and interest among the participants. In general, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Dominants of Socio-Economic Development of Ukraine in New Realities” was held at a high scientific, practical and organisational level, was quite informative and useful, which was repeatedly noted in the speeches of the participants and guests of the Conference. Based on the results of its work, a collection of abstracts will be published in electronic format.
