Despite the extremely difficult circumstances and challenging conditions that our country is experiencing today, the academic staff of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design this year, thanks to the full support of the Rector of the University, Academician Ivan Hryshchenko, not only did not suspend but also significantly intensified international project activities and international academic mobility of teachers and students. In particular, in 2022-2023, the School of Management and Business Design submitted more than 20 applications for ERASMUS+ programs, including 18 applications with partner universities from 11 European countries for the academic mobility of students and teachers of the QA1 program and 5 partnership applications in cooperation with organizations and institutions of the QA2 program.
With the organizational support of the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Oksana Morgulets and the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design Oleksandra Olshanska, Olena Cherniavska, Professor of the Department of Marketing and Communication Design, initiated many projects at the Faculty and coordinated ERASMUS+ programs.
One of the applications for the ERASMUS+ KA171 program, which was won, was a partnership agreement with the College of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” (VEVU) in Vukovar, Croatia (project 2022-1-HR01-KA171-HED-000076870), where at the end of March, the academic staff of the Faculty of Management and Business Design, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing and Communication Design Alla Sayun and PhD in Economics, senior lecturer of the Department of Smart Economics Olena Budiakova went to the program of teaching experience exchange.
As part of the ERASMUS+ project KA171, the College of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” (VEVU) organized INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK 2023, attended by the representatives of our University.
During the opening ceremony, 28 participants from different countries met each other: Ukraine, Germany, Georgia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Romania.
Three academic departments of the College of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” (Administrative, Business and Medical Studies) hosted teachers from ERASMUS+ partner higher education institutions and guest lecturers from the international institutions that cooperate closely, as well as non-academic staff from the universities that wanted to share their work practices.
The International ERASMUS+ Study Week was aimed at both academics and practitioners who are interested in learning more about the university, as well as exploring the challenges and opportunities of the ERASMUS+ Program and the process of internationalization in higher education in Europe and around the world.
The speakers offered lectures on various subjects (presented in the catalog of courses in the summer semester of 2022/2023). The lectures are designed for undergraduate students. The language of instruction is English. The ERASMUS+ program requires that guest lecturers from partner universities give at least 4 hours of lectures or classes on regular courses offered by the host university, which is required as part of this teaching and learning week.
One of the lectures given by Alla Sayun, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing and Communication Design, was on the topic of Professional Communications.
PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Smart Economics Olena Budiakova gave a lecture for the students on the topic “The Essence of a Sustainable Bioeconomy”.
Thanks to the interesting and rich schedule of INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK 2023 events, participants were offered a wide range of presentations, discussions, and opinions on innovative learning models, which greatly expanded their understanding. The five days of great experience were the perfect opportunity to discuss hot topics and exchange new ideas and best practices on issues that pose a challenge to academic internationalization in the 21st century. The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with Slavic culture as part of the social program.
As part of INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK 2023, a fair “Go Abroad - Gain Experience, Openness to Success at Home!” was also organized for the students, guests, academic and non-academic staff. The “Go Abroad” fair is held to gain experience and openness for success at presentations from partner higher education institutions. Alla Sayun and Olena Budiakova represented Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design at the fair with dignity – their exposition aroused great interest among the participants.
