On April 5, 2023, a round table of the Department of Professional Education in Technologies and Design for higher education seekers and employers took place on the basis of Kyiv Higher Vocational School of Sewing and Hairdressing. The purpose was to discuss the educational and professional programs (EPP) "Professional Education (Technology of Light Industry Products)" of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education, educational and scientific program (ESP) "Professional Education" of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education.
The event was attended by the guarantor of the program – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Tetiana DERKACH and the Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technologies and Design – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Maria BILIANSKA.
On the part of the employers were present: Kateryna VOROBEY - deputy director; Olena SKRYPNYK, Nataliya RANDYUK, Svitlana DUBROVSKA, Tetiana NIKOLNIKOVA, Nelya BALANDINA - masters of industrial training; Iryna ROMANIUK, Maria POPOVA - masters.
Tetiana DERKACH emphasized the importance of public discussion and stakeholder participation in the development of EPPs, ESP in order to improve their content following the requirements of the modern labor market.
During the round table, the purpose, features of the EPP, ESP educational components that contribute to the formation of general and professional competencies and the achievement of program learning outcomes were discussed.
The interest of master students was aroused by the discussion of the need to strengthen the practical training of higher education seekers.
Based on the results of the round table, a number of proposals from the stakeholders were agreed upon for the improvement of the EPP "Professional Education (Technology of Light Industry Products)" of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education, ESP "Professional Education" of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education, concerning the list of academic courses, and appropriate decisions were made.
