As part of the VIII Interindustry Job Fair on April 6, 2023, a sectional meeting at the Faculty of Arts and Fashion at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was held. The meeting was participated by the employers, students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education, and teachers of the Department of Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothes.
At the event, the representatives of enterprises, organizations, as well as professional schools made relevant reports and presentations. Detailed and extremely informative speeches were accompanied by students’ questions about their future employment, cooperation with domestic enterprises, and the peculiarities of work during martial law. During the discussion of the reports, the participants paid special attention to the current requirements of employers in the labor market.
The moderator at the sectional meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nataliia Ostapenko, Head of the Department of Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothes of KNUTD.
Olha Tatarinova, HR director, presented “TK-HAB” LLC and spoke about the areas of the company’s activities, as well as introduced the requirements for applicants for vacant positions.
Viktoriia Cherchenko, director of “Olvitextil” LLC, spoke about the company’s activities and production capacity for the production of special-purpose textile products and focused on the customers of the company’s products.
Oksana Khan and Daria Zaskoka, co-owners and co-founders of the sewing workshop “TseVision”, graduates of the University, talked about the constructive and technological aspects of designing adaptive clothing, shared the experience of founding a sewing shop and the difficulties that novice entrepreneurs can face.
Nataliia Nazarenko, co-owner and co-founder of the private enterprise “Nazarenko”, a graduate of the University, spoke about her own experience of working in production, the peculiarities of manufacturing a range of products for various purposes, in particular for military personnel, and noted that the University carries out high-quality professional training for higher education seekers.
The teachers of Kyiv Higher Vocational School of Sewing and Hairdressing, Mariia Popova and Iryna Romaniuk, and the methodologist of Kyiv Higher Vocational School of Technology and Fashion Design, Valeriia Farina, made a presentation of the institutions and invited the teachers to join their team.
In their reports, all the employers emphasized the demand for graduates of the educational program “Styling, Design and Artistic Finishing of Light Industry Products “ on the labor market.
In general, the work of the section took place at a high scientific-practical and organizational level, being sufficiently informative and useful. This was repeatedly noted in the speeches of the participants and also contributed to the strengthening of close ties and cooperation between business and education.
