On April 26, 2023, the International Interdisciplinary Online Seminar “Language of Fashion: Exploring Research Method”, organized by Nataliya Rozhin, a leading lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media of Birmingham City University (United Kingdom), was held.
The event was attended by the teachers and students of bachelor's and master's degree programs of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of the Faculty of Design and the Department of Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothes of the Faculty of Art and Fashion (educational programs "Fashion Design", "Styling, Design and Artistic Finishing of Fashion Industry Products") and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Design (educational program "Design").

Serhii Fokin, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation from Romance Languages named after Mykola Zerov, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, spoke about the experience of creating a bilingual fashion and design dictionary “Towards building a bilingual Fashion and Design dictionary: Case of Ukrainian as a target language”.

Also, the report "Paradoxes of the mask: communicating via face covering" by Iryna Alyekseyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, was heard.

Master of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Victoria Romanchuk, who is currently studying at Birmingham City University under the academic mobility program, spoke about the corpus-assisted analysis of the language around Ukrainian sustainable fashion using the example of the works of modern Ukrainian designer brands "Corpus assisted analysis of the sustainable fashion".

The results of the linguistic study “Clothing Nomination Tendencies in Ukrainian (Text Corpus Studies)” were shared by Solomiya Buk, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of General Linguistics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students of KNUTD are sincerely grateful to Birmingham City University lecturer Nataliya Rozhin for the opportunity to participate in the scientific seminar and gain relevant knowledge in fashion design.
The seminar was held in English, which allowed the teachers and students to improve their foreign language skills and learn the interpretation of various terms in fashion design.
