In the current academic year, the scientific club "Researcher" (supervisor – Professor Olha Andreieva) worked on the topic “Resource-saving and ecologically oriented technologies of processing and research of materials of biogenic origin”. Meetings of the club took place in educational and scientific laboratories and classrooms of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur in the form of reports, discussions, and experimental research.

During the reporting period, nine meetings were held with the participation of fourteen chemical and biotechnological students; four theses were prepared for three international scientific conferences abroad (Canada, Sweden, and Japan); one article was published in the specialized edition “Bulletin of KhNU. Technical Sciences” and another article was accepted for publication in the same edition. In the format of a ZOOM conference, members of the group listened to three public lectures by European scientists: Volodymyr Vasylenko, doctoral student of Vytautas Magnus University “General principles of organization and functioning of the Department of Quality Control of Biopharmaceutical Products” (Lithuania); Virgilius Valeika, professor of Kaunas University of Technology "Proteins in cosmetics and pharmacy” (Lithuania); Geert Poters, professor of the Antwerp Maritime Academy “Corrosion: Ancient problem, heavy burden, modern approach” (Belgium).

The results of this thorough work will certainly contribute to the expansion of students’ ideas and knowledge, their acquisition of practical skills in the rational use of raw materials and material resources, and their careful attitude to the environment.
