On June 13, the teachers of the Department of Digital Art, artists Oleksandra Basanets and Yuriy Basanets met with the 1st-year students of the Faculty of Design at the exhibition “Loyalty to Traditions” at the “Art Space”, KNUTD exhibition center.
Oleksandra Petrivna held a lecture on the topic “Kyiv School of Painting – Past and Present”. She raised the problem of preserving the traditions of Ukrainian classical painting in the artistic formation of creative youth. Students could familiarize themselves with original canvases and drawings of Petro Basanets, People’s Artist of Ukraine and professor of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. The visitors could learn about the peculiarities and secrets of the mastery of color using the example of the incredibly bright still lifes with colorful flowers of Oleksandra Petrivna and the landscapes of the Ukrainian village of Yuriy Petrovych, which excite and fascinate the viewer with the artist’s ability to convey the beauty of the nature of his native land at any time of the year.
The lecture was educational and informative, we hope that the students were interested in gaining new knowledge and they immersed themselves in the poetic world of fine art.
