On June 18, 2023, a graduation ceremony was held for students who successfully completed their studies at the joint Sino-Ukrainian Kyiv Institute in Qilu.

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design has a long history and a rich heritage. It offers courses with their own specifics, full professional categories of specialties with excellent educational results. It is a multidisciplinary integrated university that combines education, science and innovation.

In 2019, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and Qilu University of Technology founded the first Sino-Ukrainian educational institution in China and Ukraine, the Kyiv Institute (Jinan, Shandong Province).

In the four years since its establishment, the Kyiv Institute has been adhering to the advanced educational concepts of China and Ukraine, making full use of the peculiarities and advantages of the two countries in scientific courses, teaching methods and research, and actively promoting resource sharing and mutual development.

This unique project provides students with the opportunity to receive a high-quality international education in design, biotechnology, chemical technology, and engineering. During their studies, students receive higher education according to high European standards and can communicate with lecturers and students of both universities, which greatly expands their opportunities and prospects in the future.

This year, 218 bachelors graduated with degrees in Biotechnology, Chemical Technology and Engineering, and Design, being ready for professional fulfillment and contribution to the development of the modern world. In addition, 19 students obtained master’s degrees in Design, which confirms the high level of their knowledge and creative potential.

At the ceremony at Qilu University of Technology in China, Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of KNUTD, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, congratulated the graduates on the successful completion of this stage of their educational journey and wished them to fulfill all their dreams and success in the future. On behalf of Qilu University of Technology, Wu Yantao, Secretary of Qilu University, emphasized that as a teacher, he was very happy to see everyone’s passionate eyes full of happiness, perseverance, and self-confidence. These are the first graduates to complete their studies at the Kyiv Institute, and they have polished the brand of Sino-Ukrainian cooperation in educating students with high results.

On behalf of the graduates, Yin Hongfei from Group 1 of 2019, majoring in Biotechnology, expressed his gratitude. “I remember”, he said, “that four years ago we arrived with our baggage and dreams, and we met at the Kyiv Institute from different places. Since then, we have formed a friendly and harmonious family. Since we entered the University, this place has been the first stop on our life’s journey; as the first graduates of the Kyiv Institute, under the guidance of our professors, we learned how to analyze and think, collaborate and compete, research and innovate, and how to constantly exceed ourselves and overcome our own difficulties in order to grow”.

After receiving their diplomas, the graduates thanked the rector, professors and administration for their support and knowledge. The graduation ceremony program was held under the slogan “Raise the sails and set off again, unanimously and with a view to a successful future” and included joint photos, communication with the students and management of the University of Qilu and the Kyiv Institute.
