From August 01 to August 23, 2023, the exhibition of creative works by students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion "Concentration of Creativity" is taking place at the “Art Space” Exhibition Center of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.

The presentation of the creative work of the Faculty’s students continued a series of expositions of the University’s creative achievements. The exhibition features the works of talented students of the Departments of Fashion and Clothing, Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothing, Fashion Technology, Professional Education in Technology and Design, Digital Art, each of which reflects their unique worldview, creative imagination, and hard work of the author.

The exhibition emphasizes the importance of creativity as a means of self-expression and knowledge acquisition, demonstrating students' creative abilities and a high level of skills. The organization of the exposition space allows visitors to view each work separately while feeling the general atmosphere of creativity.

The exhibition presents a wide range of creative works in fine and decorative arts, as well as the fashion industry, including sketches of the author's collections of clothing, footwear, as well as original models of casual, formal, sportswear, accessories made of textiles, fur, leather, and bags, toys, which indicates the extensive professional training of the Faculty's students.

Creative works in the field of fine arts are presented by students of the Department of Digital Art. The exposition presents the results of experimental work in various painting and graphic techniques, in particular oil painting by A. Kovalskyi, O. Sayko, and A. Khavarenko, watercolor by D. Sashnikova, collage by P. Kondratenko, charcoal and sauce by O. Khovanova, D. Petrosian, M. Diadiieva. It is worth emphasizing the genre diversity of the presented compositions, including landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. The digital direction of fine art is represented by the works of the students A. Ziglin, J. Eldris, D. Malitska, V. Syroid, and J. Sechkar studying the educational program "Digital Art". Among them, you can see 2D and 3D character and location designs for computer games, illustrations, and digital drawings. The students' creative works, made with traditional and digital techniques, impress with their bright colors and details and evoke a sense of sublimity with the expressiveness of the depicted forms.

Students are involved in creative work at the Departments through classes, creative clubs, their master's theses, etc. It is worth noting that students of the Department of Digital Art constantly participate and win prizes in international and domestic exhibitions, competitions, and projects, including the international two-round multigenre art festival "Liman Dawns", the international two-round art competition "Watercolor", the all-Ukrainian art competition "Heroes of Famous Paintings in the Modern World", etc.

Traditionally, students demonstrate their creativity at the annual international competition of young fashion designers “Pecherski Kashtany”, the international competition of one image, and New Year and Christmas decor “Suzirya Kashtan”, which are the hallmarks of the University. Thus, among the works of students of the program "Modeling, Design and Artistic Decoration of Light Industry Products" presented at the exhibition are the collections of clothing models of the winners of the “Pecherski Kashtany” competition - Yevheniia Onushko (women's clothing collection "Brillar", 2023), Liubov Bratchyk (women's clothing collection "Brillar", 2023), Lyubava Bratchykova (Barbicor sportswear collection, 2023), Sofia Verba (Insight Flow women's clothing collection, 2020), and Olha Rovenets (Mint women's clothing collection, 2021), Kristina Slizhevskaya (collection of bags, 2022), Anastasia Dzhulai (author's sketches of a women's clothing collection, 2023), Anastasia Molodan (sketches of a collection of clothes for teenagers, 2023).

The creative works of the Department of Fashion Technology students demonstrate not only their significant creative potential but also the high level of manufacturability of fashion products. The sketch projects of the master students of the Fashion Industry program Anna Khromushyna "Shades of Safari" and Oksana Fomina "Ukrainian Widow" were awarded at the international competition of young designers "NEW FASHION ZONE" and the creative competition "Shopper. Very eco. Very fashionable". The works of the team of students who took part in the Undefeated Trident competition (Ukraine) represent a modern patriotic footwear design for military personnel and were implemented in the collection "Newest Realities" (authors – K. Kukhar, P. Bilous, D. Kaptiurova).

For the second year in a row, the international competition for young designers "Digital Fashion" has been impressive with its results, the prize-winning works of which are presented at the exhibition - the project of the winner of the "Accessories" block by Ivan Pashkov (EP "Computer Design in the Fashion Industry"). Students' practical classes are filled with creative tasks and motivate them to create unique art projects, which are presented at the Department's stand - the authors of the works are A. Klimova, A. Butovska, I. Ternavsky, O. Nos, and others.

Also, the creative developments of gifted young people of the Faculty in the fashion industry are successfully tested at international foreign competition sites.

Another landmark event in 2023 was the involvement of higher education students majoring in «182 Light Industry Technologies» in a fashion design competition with a subsequent show in Paris, organized by the Association of Ukrainian Designers. The author's sketches of the collection of Lyubov Stryzhak, a student of the program "Modeling, Design and Artistic Decoration of Light Industry Products", the winner of the first round of the sketch competition "Ode to European Ukraine" in 2023, and the work of Oksana Fomina, a student of the program "Fashion Industry", were selected for the exhibition.

The exposition presents the environmental works of students and graduates of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design who participated in competitions of various levels. In particular, the work "Secrets of Nature" by Valentyna Paukova was awarded at the international competition "UKRAINIAN START-UP TO EU" (Chłomska Chamber of Commerce Sp. z o.o., Poland, 2022). The exhibition also presents this author's creative collection of sketches "Malva".

The student works of the Department of Fashion Design and Artistic Decoration were highly appreciated by the jury of the international online exhibition of creative works "PRIME ART" (Katowice, Poland), and "Starlight" (Toronto, Canada).

The exhibition presents collections of students and graduates of the Department of Fashion Design and Artistic Decoration, approved at the Neo. Fashion show within the framework of Berlin Fashion Week (Germany, 2022, 2023): "Infiorescenza" (by Marta-Olha Klontsak); "Romance of the Arc" (by Olga Serdiuk and Marina Kharchenko); "Folkgraphia" (by Anastasia Navrotska) and a collection of women's clothing by Yevheniia Onushko, 2023.

The exhibition is a significant indicator of the level of professional creative training of students provided by the Faculty. Creative courses are taught by well-known Ukrainian designers, members of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, and practice-oriented academic staff.

We express our gratitude to the Rector of KNUTD, Academician Ivan Gryshchenko for supporting the creative development of talented young people of the University. The Art Space Exhibition Center is another business card of the university, as well as an excellent platform for demonstrating the level of professional training of higher education students. It can be said that the long-term work of the academic staff of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion at the University is fruitful.

We express our gratitude to the authors of the works - our creative, talented, gifted students and graduates of the University. We are proud of them and wish them creative inspiration and new achievements!
