On September 5, 2023, an exceptionally interesting and fruitful event took place as part of our international collaboration. In accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) and the prestigious Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom, signed in April 2022, we had the opportunity to participate in an open webinar lecture.
This lecture was aimed at higher education students and instructors in our fields of study, specifically in the areas of 241 Hotel and Restaurant Management and 242 Tourism and Recreation. We gained valuable knowledge and practical experience in using the 'Hotel Operations Tactics and Strategy' program (HOTS) from distinguished representatives of Sheffield Hallam University: David Graham, who leads the subject group in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Professor Ian Elsmore from the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management.
This event marks the continuation of our previous successful collaboration, further details of which can be found on Sheffield Hallam University's website: Link. We are also delighted to share the news that our British colleagues have expanded opportunities for second-level (master's) higher education students and anyone interested in acquiring practical skills in using effective interactive technologies in the service industry.
According to the results of the webinar, students of the academic program in tourism and hotel and restaurant business have acquired important skills in the use of interactive customer-oriented technologies to form a service product, namely the management of a hotel complex that meets customer requirements. These skills not only help to increase the efficiency of service activities, but also ensure high quality of service for hotel consumers. The significance of this webinar for the development of the professional skills of future hotel and restaurant professionals cannot be overstated, as the knowledge and skills acquired during this event will allow our students to - understand the needs and expectations of hotel consumers, which is a key factor in modern management; - effectively manage the hotel complex, ensuring optimal use of resources and increasing profitability; - implement innovative interactive solutions to improve customer service and create a competitive advantage; - ensure quality service and customer satisfaction, leading to a positive reputation and customer loyalty.
This webinar hosted by our British colleagues is not only an opportunity to acquire important skills, but also highlights the relevance and current trends in the hospitality and tourism industry. It helps to shape our higher education students as highly qualified professionals who are ready to meet the challenges of this dynamic industry and contribute to the further development of the hospitality business based on the best international practices.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to David Graham and Ian Elsmore on behalf of all the participants
