On October 2, 2023, the opening of the personal exhibition "Ukraine is We!" was held in the "Art Space" exhibition center of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Anatoly Shapoval, graphic artist, honorary professor of KNUTD, member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, associate professor of the Department of Multimedia Design of KNUTD. The exhibition "Ukraine is We!" presents an original collection of 22 works by Anatoly Shapoval.
The personal exhibition of the artist was opened by Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology.
In his speech, Ivan Mykhailovych noted that this event opens the second season of the demonstration of the work of talented creators of modern Ukrainian culture – teachers of KNUTD in "Art Space", who train the best designers in Ukraine and abroad.

"I want to note that Anatoly Shapoval is a leading designer at the Faculty and at the University, today he presented works in the style of subrealism in various techniques and manner of painting”, the rector emphasized.
Ivan Mykhailovych also said, "Higher education, science and art cannot live in isolation, they need recognition and unification. Today, the whole world knows Ukraine thanks to the achievements of the Armed Forces, but in addition to the Armed Forces and the courage of the Ukrainian people, we present Ukraine and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design at the educational level. The University works with more than 60 international institutions, actively promoting Ukraine abroad. For example, China, home to more than 1.5 billion people, knows Ukraine through the University, through our teachers, through exhibitions held in the "Art Space". Today's event raises the level of knowledge for our students, gives higher competitiveness to the design education of our University, because people who know culture and art are much more creative, much more successful in building their careers, and all this happens thanks to our teachers who combine artistic creativity with modern technologies”.

Yevhen Petrovych emphasized that each exhibited image is not only an aesthetic element but also a cry of the soul, full of hope and expressiveness, an explosion that demonstrates how beauty and life are closely intertwined, even when the outside world is full of chaos.

Art exhibition "Ukraine is We!" is a creative project that illuminates the present of our life, presenting a collection of works by a talented artist who demonstrates his mastery in the field of airbrush techniques – tempera and acrylic. This unique opportunity opens the way for viewers to stop and see the richness of today's colors, reproduced in the creative experiments of the artist in the style of subrealism – an artistic method in art based on the reproduction of reality.

The solemn opening took place against the background of a musical greeting from Kateryna Zhanko and Diana Kulyk with the song "The Tempest" and from Elizaveta Zhovnir, who performed "Adagio Albinoni" for the guests. The singing of talented young performers skillfully turned into musical melodies that captured the hearts of those present.
The host of the event, Liudmyla Ardelian, Honored Artist of Ukraine, famous Ukrainian theater and film actress, associate professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of KNUTD, said, «Anatoly Shapoval shares with other people his impressions of certain objects, the environment and, in general, life. In essence, an artist is a relay between art and people. What is hidden is stronger than what is shown. The artist is called precisely to draw attention to this "hidden" thing, to show it to people who have other professions that are far from art, because it is "hidden" and it is art.»
The exhibition "Ukraine is We!" was created not only to enjoy the beauty, but also to explore the craftsmanship behind the works of art, so that visitors can gain a deeper appreciation of the skill and dedication of the artist who worked on the paintings.
