On October 6, 2023, students of the EP "Digital Art" under the leadership of Associate Professor Inga YERMAK and Head of the Department of Digital Art Antonina DUBRIVNA visited the National Science and Natural History Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The museum's collection is unique, it is one of the well-known natural science museums in the world and the largest natural science museum in Ukraine. The exhibition includes more than 30,000 exhibits that introduce the structure and evolution of the earth, its plant and animal worlds, highlight the history of the material culture of the tribes and peoples that inhabited the territory of Ukraine.
It was a fascinating trip to ancient times where students learned many interesting things about natural phenomena, the history of science and the research of scientists during the excursion. They had the opportunity to see various expositions devoted to flora, minerals, and fossils, observe the peculiarities of the evolution of the anatomical structure of animals and people. Everyone made a series of drawings to use in their own creative work.
This field trip was beneficial for the students for several reasons. First, it contributed to the deepening of their knowledge about nature, science, the history of discoveries, helped to collect visual material for further developments in creative activity. Secondly, it provided an opportunity to see real scientific research and its results, which can be extremely inspiring for future professionals in digital production. Thirdly, viewing exhibits and communicating with museum staff allowed students to improve their skills in perceiving and analyzing information.
Visiting the National Science and Natural History Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was an important experience for students, which will contribute to their educational and scientific development.
Let's respect, research, preserve for the glory of Ukraine!
