It is already a tradition that in September and early October, the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library hosts excursions for freshmen. So, on October 6, 2023, such an excursion was conducted by the specialists of the Scientific and Technical Library for 1st-year students of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business of the Faculty of Management and Business Design.
The main task was to acquaint students with the Scientific and Technical Library, its structure, activities and rules how to use it; to tell them about innovative methods of serving readers and about the features of working with the electronic library and repository.
The library staff familiarized the students with the library's location, working hours, collection, and library services.
The representatives of the library held an interactive presentation for students to master the skills of working with electronic resources and databases. They provided practical advice on their effective use in the educational process. We drew students' attention to the fact that the use of electronic resources allows us to move to a qualitatively new level of ensuring the full satisfaction of users' information needs.
The students listened to a fascinating story about the history of the library from its foundation to the present day.
Over the years of the Scientific and Technical Library existence, its specialists have been constantly forming a collection of books, newspapers, and magazines. The library has rare and valuable literary editions of the 17th-20th centuries. Some of them were shown to the students.
During the excursion, the students were registered as readers at their request.
The lecturers of the Department and students sincerely thank the staff of the Scientific and Technical Library of KNUTD for a very interesting, high-quality and informative excursion.
