On October 12, 2023, Ivan Hryshchenko, Rector of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design (KNUTD), academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, met with Hryhoriy Kostyuk, a member of the Supervisory Board of JSC "Pharmak" regarding the expansion of cooperation in the field of drug development and research. Tetyana Derkach, Professor and dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies, and Vladyslav Strashnyi, head of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Rector invited the guest of honour to get acquainted with the material and technical base and research potential of the university and proudly demonstrated the educational premises of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy, which are equipped with modern analytical and technological equipment. Special attention was paid to the Educational and Research Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics and Biogerontology (ERML) of KNUTD (Scientific Director - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Bessarabov), in the development of which «Farmak» JSC was directly involved, as it has repeatedly provided sponsorship in the form of valuable research equipment, reagents and laboratory furniture.

The Rector, the leadership of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and the Department of Industrial Pharmacy sincerely thanked the guest for his cooperation. In his turn, Hryhorii Kostiuk noted the importance of the functioning of such an innovative laboratory at the university. He wished the students and scientists working at the SIChP success and new achievements in industrial pharmacy.

Rector Ivan Hryshchenko noted that KNUTD and «Farmak», the leader of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market, have been fruitfully cooperating in numerous joint educational and research projects for more than ten years. Dozens of specialists and masters trained at the KNUTD Department of Industrial Pharmacy are successfully working at the company's production sites and have already proven themselves to be the best. In addition, many «Farmak» specialists study and conduct research at the postgraduate school of KNUTD.

In addition, this year, the cooperation between the company and the university was significantly expanded by a new format of social partnership - the Nominal Scholarship Project. The company held its competitive selection among the Department of Industrial Pharmacy students studying at the second (master's) level of higher education under the Industrial Pharmacy educational and professional programme and selected the winner to receive a scholarship. We are sincerely convinced that investments in human capital greatly support students in such difficult times for the whole country and contribute to developing highly qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical industry.

It is planned to significantly expand the traditional interaction between the university and Farmak JSC. Within the framework of this meeting, the possibility of opening the first educational and scientific Hub of JSC "Farmak" in KNUTD in the direction of innovative pharmaceuticals was discussed. Such a partnership is helpful for the scientific and educational spheres. It will contribute to developing pharmaceutical science and practice in Ukraine.
