On October 11, 2023, the Department of Graphic Design hosted a round table of the academic staff, stakeholders of the EP "Graphic Design" on the topic "Content of the educational components of the EP "Graphic Design" according to the standard of the specialty 022 Design".
Within the framework of the round table, the academic staff of the Department of Graphic Design, head of the Department of Graphic Design Yevhen Gula, Professor; guarantor of the program "Graphic Design" Natalia Chuprina, Doctor of Arts, Professor, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Design Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, discussed the content and topics of the educational components of the program "Graphic Design" of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education.
They discussed the topics of the courses "Designing of graphic design objects", "Integrated engineering design", "Design graphics" and redistributed some of them to different educational components in order to comprehensively cover professional issues and project practices.
Associate professor of the Department of Graphic Design Sviatoslav Podlevsky proposed to strengthen the acquisition of theoretical knowledge of students in the courses "History of art and design" and "Designing of graphic design objects" by interactively familiarizing students with modern trends in art and graphic design, with exhibition expositions and creative achievements of Ukrainian graphic designers, for further analysis and creative transformation in the development of students.
Professor Oleksandra Kolisnyk, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, proposed to emphasize the practical component of the courses “Search engine optimization”, "Corporate identity," and "Fonts and typography" and coordinate the topics of these courses with the tasks of educational and industrial practice of students.
Natalia Chuprina, the guarantor of the program "Graphic design", spoke about the requirements for the design of syllabi and work programs of the courses and emphasized the need to describe all the criteria for evaluating students' work. They also discussed the content of qualification works of higher education students and practical training as a necessary component of training specialists in graphic design.
