On October 11, 2023, for students of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design and teachers of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business, on the initiative of Larysa Gorodianska, PhD (Econ.), Associate Prof., Corresponding Member of the Academy of Econоmic Sciences of Ukraine, an online seminar was organized and conducted within the discipline “Economics of the Tourism Industry”. Theme of the seminar: “Activities of state statistics bodies of Ukraine. Program for the development of state statistics"

The seminar was attended by leading specialists of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, namely, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning, Development and International Cooperation - Head of the Planning and Development Department, Natalya Pavlenko; Deputy Head of the Information Dissemination and External Communications Department - Head of the Department of Interaction with the Public and Users, Svetlana Obednikova.

Their reports highlighted the regulatory framework for the activities of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, modern methods and directions for the development of statistics in accordance with the “Program for the Development of Official Statistics until 2028”.

The seminar participants, thanks to informative reports and presentations, had the opportunity to learn about the features of collecting, storing, processing, analyzing and protecting information that relates specifically to the tourism industry. Directly from specialists, students received answers to pressing questions that reveal multifaceted aspects: organizing the activities of state statistics bodies in the context of providing the state and society with comprehensive and objective information, found out the features of the formation and dissemination of statistical information, prospects and directions for the development of the tourism industry in Ukraine.
