On September 28, 2023, students of the first (bachelor’s) level of education under the educational programs "Design and technology of garments" and "Modelling, design and artistic decoration of light industry products" accompanied by the lecturers of the Department of Fashion and Style, associate professor Larysa Bilotska and Svitlana Lozovenko visited the production enterprise "DANA-MODA" LLC.
The students and teachers were warmly welcomed by Liudmyla Ivanova, director of DANA-MODA LLC, a graduate of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, a stakeholder of the aforementioned educational programs.
Liudmyla Ivanivna told the students about the glorious history of the sewing enterprise. The company was established in 1978. Currently, "Dana-Moda" is a complex-mechanized enterprise that uses cutting-edge technologies for the production of garments. The factory is equipped with the modern technological equipment of well-known companies "Juki", "Veit", "Pfaff", "Durkopp", "Meyer", "Bulmer", etc. "Dana-Moda" LLC currently specializes in tailoring women's and men's outerwear from all types of fabrics and components of military equipment.
Ihor Ivanov, technologist of the company, a worthy successor of the dynasty of the fashion industry workers, joined the meeting. His story about the experience and features of manufacturing special purpose garments (parachutes, air layers, etc.) was interesting and meaningful.
The students visited the main factory departments, studied the company's products range and the manufacturing processes of garments for various purposes.
In the preparatory and sewing departments, Lyudmila Ivanova gave a lecture to the students on the topic "Peculiarities of the technology of high-quality garment manufacturing", as part of the course "Technology of garments". She used the stages of the technological process, details, and finished products as demonstration material.
The representatives of the Department of Fashion and Style discussed with Liudmyla Ivanovna the problems of the sewing industry, shared the results of updating the educational programs "Design and technology of garments" and "Modelling, design and artistic decoration of light industry products".
Liudmyla Ivanova noted the promising development of the speciality 182 Technologies of Light Industry, positively evaluated the practical orientation of the presented educational and professional programs, focused attention on proportional theoretical and practical training and sufficient consideration of the needs of those seeking education in an individual educational trajectory.
At the end of the tour and lecture, Liudmyla Ivanovna wished the students and teachers of the Department of Fashion and Style success in their studies, teaching, scientific and professional activities!
