On 20 October 2023, within the framework of the implementation of the European Union's Erasmus+ grant programme in the Jean Monnet Module of the ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH project at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, 101127252 - "Promoting of European skills and approaches for sustainable bioeconomy in the conditions of Ukrainian acute challenges" (PESAB), with the support of the Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Ivan Gryshchenko, a round table "Promoting European skills and approaches for sustainable bioeconomy in the conditions of Ukrainian acute challenges" was held.
The round table, which took place with the participation of representatives of the Erasmus+ National Office in Ukraine, was dedicated to the exchange of ideas and best practices in the implementation of sustainable bioeconomy projects between the academic community, leading experts, representatives of public authorities and business.
The round table was opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of KNUTD, Professor Liudmyla HANUSHCHAK-YEFIMENKO, who noted in her speech that the University is developing a policy of Sustainable Development Leadership that is closely related to the areas of the Jean Monnet Module, in particular in the field of bioeconomy, and systematically implements 5 areas to achieve the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
The moderator of the event was the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksandra Olshanska, who noted that the Jean Monnet Module "Promoting European Skills and Approaches to Sustainable Bioeconomy in the Context of Modern Challenges in Ukraine" (PESAB) is based on the successful implementation of international scientific and educational grants and projects of the Faculty, as well as through the launched interdisciplinary educational programme "Bioeconomy" for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education of the Department of Smart Economics.
The moderator then gave the floor to the project manager, Head of the Department of Smart Economics, Professor Anna Oleshko.
In her report, Anna Oleshko introduced the project team: Doctor of Economics, Professor Olshanska O.V., Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mokrousova O.R., Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Bebko S.V., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Budiakova O.Y, who will implement the project in 2023-2026. The main goal of PESAB was also presented, which is to promote and implement EU knowledge and approaches to the development of a sustainable bioeconomy in Ukraine in line with the EU strategy in this area. The project envisages the creation of a module that provides bachelor's and master's students with additional knowledge and skills in sustainable bioeconomy.
The dissemination of EU best practices in the field of sustainable bioeconomy will be carried out through the introduction of new courses for students, trainings for teachers, conferences, workshops, round tables, and scientific and practical seminars. This will help to develop interdisciplinary skills among students, pupils, teachers and the public, using the EU's positive experience to ensure the implementation of bioenergy production and overcome the food crisis in the face of acute challenges for Ukraine.
Taking into account the military challenges, teaching and dissemination of European knowledge on sustainable bioeconomy and its popularisation among teachers, scientists, young researchers, students, pupils and representatives of business, NGOs and local authorities will help to form future competent personnel capable of restoring the country in the future post-war period and developing production, trade, science and research in the European space.
The invited guests of the round table shared their experience of international grant activities.
In particular, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities of Sumy National Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yurii Danko shared his experience of implementing Jean Monnet projects and their implementation in the educational process.
Rector of the Higher Education Institution "Academician Yuri Buhay International Scientific and Technical University", Doctor of Economics, Professor Veronika Khudolei noted the prospects for cooperation between higher education institutions for the implementation of international projects.
Stanislav Kukhtyk, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Development of the Higher Education Institution "Yuri Buhay International Science and Technology University", shared information on the implementation of international grant projects at the University.
Hanna DYVNYCH, Head of the International Relations Department of the National University "Chernihiv Polytechnic", presented the experience of implementing international projects at the University.
Dean of the Faculty of Personnel Management, Sociology and Psychology of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, Doctor of Economics, Professor Svitlana Tsymbaliuk presented the innovative theory and practice of green human resource management and shared the experience of implementing international grant projects at Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.
Olena KANISHCHENKO, Professor of the Department of Marketing and Business Administration at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, shared her experience of implementing international projects at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Head of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Economic Security of the State Tax University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Liudmyla SLIUSARIEVA highlighted the main vectors of national economic recovery based on sustainable development in her report.
Anton KLESHCHOV, National Coordinator of the UN Industrial Development Project "Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme in Ukraine", presented the macroeconomic prerequisites for the implementation of the eco-industrial parks concept in Ukraine.
Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting of KNUTD, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Tarasenko shared the results of the Jean Monnet project "The role of financial services consumer protection for financial stability in the digital age: European approaches" at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
Olena Mokrousova, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur of KNUTD, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Olena Okhmat, PhD, Associate Professor, in a joint report identified current trends in the development of biotechnology and analysed the possibilities of their implementation in the national economy, in particular in its post-war recovery.
Director of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies of KNUTD, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Tetiana Vlasiuk focused her report on the problem of advanced training of teachers in the field of bioeconomics and presented the Advanced Training Programme envisaged within the framework of PESAB.
Svitlana Bebko, Professor of the Department of Marketing and Communication Design, KNUTD, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, made a thorough business analysis of the Ukrainian biofuel market in her report.
Dmytro NOVIKOV, Head of Marketing at UIFK-AGRO LLC, emphasised the role of bioeconomy in the agricultural sector of Ukraine and informed about the experience of introducing modern biotechnologies at agricultural enterprises.
