On October 26, 2023, the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy-Efficient University" was held. The organizers of the conference are the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The conference was held with the support of the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ, the international project "INTREPID-HEI", the NGO "Higher Council of Energy Auditors and Energy Managers of Ukraine", the NGO "All-Ukrainian Environmental League" , the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine).

For the twelfth time, this event gathers representatives of the government, educational institutions, domestic and international organizations and foundations, leading experts, scientists, and the public.

In the conditions of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine, one of the consequences of which is the destruction of Ukraine's energy system, the conference became a platform for the exchange of information and experience on the development and implementation of innovative energy-saving projects for representatives of higher education institutions, domestic and international organizations and foundations, leading specialists , scientists, representatives of local authorities and public associations.

The conference was held in a hybrid format. Remote work of the conference was provided on the ZOOM platform.

The conference was opened by the Director of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies, Professor Igor Panasіuk. Igor Vasyliovych noted that scientists and representatives of business circles from Germany, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Denmark, Austria, Poland, and Iraq are participating in the conference.

The rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Ivan Gryshchenko addressed the participants and guests of the conference with a welcome speech.

Ivan Mykhailovych thanked the partners for supporting the conference. He noted that the conference is taking place during the celebration of the 93rd anniversary of the University's founding. The rector emphasized that Ukraine's energy sector has been at war since 2014, and since February 24, 2022, with a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, our energy sector has faced a list of new, even more threatening challenges. Today, anyone who conscientiously works behind the scenes on the educational and scientific fronts can support our armed forces, as well as the energy front.

Ivan Mykhailovych described the main achievements and development directions of the University, emphasizing the importance of energy efficiency and energy saving in its functioning. The urgency of this issue does not decrease and the team is steadily working on implementing new energy-saving measures. Ivan Mykhailovych wished the participants of the conference to receive useful information, new communications, and creative thoughts.

Kateryna Kravchenko - associate professor of Žilina University, Žilina, Slovak Republic;

Inna Melkonova - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.

Volodymyr Bobrovnik - Vice-Rector for Educational and Industrial Issues and Development of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with a report "Peculiarities of the implementation of the energy saving program of KNUTD";

Anatoliy Kozlenko - director of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory "Energy Efficiency Center" of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with a report "In the field of view of the "Energy Efficiency Center" NNL, plans to implement the certification of energy auditors to replace their attestation";

Volodymyr Kovtunets - a leading researcher of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with a report "The place of the university in the formation of professional qualifications in energy efficiency".

Then the work of the conference continued on thematic platforms.

As part of the 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy-Efficient University", a student poster competition "Save ENERGY-2023" was held. The works of students of the Department of Graphic Design of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD were presented at the competition. The manager of the competition is Professor Oleksandra Kolisnyk, the curator of the competition is Assoc. Prof. Oksana Maznichenko. Student works received favorable reviews from all participants of the conference.

The winners of the competition were congratulated by Volodymyr Bobrovnik, Vice-Rector for Educational and Industrial Issues and Development, Volodymyr Statsenko, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Design, Kalyna Pashkevych, Director of the NNIIIIT Igor Panasiuk, who presented diplomas and valuable gifts to the winners.

Representatives of 23 institutions and companies from Ukraine and 10 countries of the world took part in the conference.

In general, the 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy- Efficient University" was held at a high scientific, organizational and practical level, it was sufficiently informative and useful, which was repeatedly noted in the speeches of the participants and guests of the conference.
