On October 27, 2023, as part of the courses “Furniture and equipment design” (instructor – associate professor of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design Ruslan Ahliullin) and “Environmental design” (instructor – assistant of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design Svitlana Ostapyk) an on-site practical lesson was held for the 3rd and 4th-year students of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design (educational program “Environmental Design” of the bachelor’s level).
The students together with teachers visited the international DESIGN LIVING TENDENCY exhibition – Ukraine’s largest trade exhibition of the latest interior trends, representing furniture, lighting, decor, home textiles, etc. Every year, in autumn, specialists from all the regions of Ukraine come to Kyiv to learn about new collections, innovative solutions and trends presented by leading Ukrainian and foreign companies.
Using specific examples, the teachers told the students about modern trends in interior and furniture design, technologies for finishing and decorating premises and furniture production, artistic and compositional solutions in environment design.
At the exhibition, the students got acquainted with numerous embodiments of creative and even avant-garde ideas in the design of the environment, implemented by the best Ukrainian and European designers.
Students are inspired by modern creative ideas and developments of leading designers and are ready to implement new approaches and trends in their designs under the “Environmental Design” educational program.
