Within the framework of the event "Science&Business – GIST Pitch Days" with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, the Global Innovation through Science and Technology initiative, the startup "Biogenic silver" (Healthcare) presented by the scientists of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur became the winner of the competition (https://mon.gov.ua/ua/news/sciencebusiness-gist-pitch-days-pershi-pidsumki). The startup implementation team included Olga Shydlovska, PhD, Associate Professor (head of the startup), Olga Iungin, PhD, Associate Professor, Iryna Voloshyna, PhD, Associate Professor, and Ihor Hretskyi, PhD.

The grant made it possible to purchase modern equipment for the training laboratory of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur and conduct research on the development of a prototype of silver nanoparticles obtained by green synthesis for the potential treatment of wound surfaces contaminated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
