On October 27, 2023, students of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education of the educational and professional programs "Modelling, design and artistic decoration of products of light industry" and "Design and technology of garments" together with the teachers of the Department of Fashion and Style – senior lecturer, Halyna Oliinyk, Assoc. Prof. Maryna Yatsenko, Assoc. Prof. Alla Rubanka and assistant Svitlana Lozovenko visited the production enterprise "PROMO-TEX" LLC.
It is the leading manufacturer in Ukraine of advertising clothing - raglans, polos, vests, raincoats, jackets, etc., and accessories - organizers, shopping bags, pillows, lunchboxes, etc., on which logos are applied using silk-screen printing, thermal transfer, sublimation, and embroidery techniques.
The representative of the company's human resources department, Anna Chernienko, warmly welcomed the students and teachers, told the history of their establishment, familiarized them with the structure and specialization of production, the product range and manufacturing technologies.
The master of production, Halyna Kadeieva, showed the students the modern equipment of the sewing workshop, in particular, semi-automatic machines for the production of fastenings, covering loops and sewing on buttons; special equipment - sewing machines and flat sewing machines; universal machines with automatic functions, etc. She also talked about the stages of making products, the division of labor between seamstresses, and quality control of each operation.
The chief designer of the experimental workshop, Nataliya Semenenko, demonstrated the construction of patterns by the CAD "Investronica", emphasized the importance of using human dimensional features and the methodology of their measurement to perform gradation of products by size and height following the customer's requirements.
Screen printing operator Andriy Kyrychenko told the students about the technology of applying logos on finished products and using the example of embroidery equipment in the workshop, he showed how embroidery is performed on 6-8 products at the same time.
The main designer, Svitlana Anosova, introduced the students to the variety of software for product visualization. She noted that knowledge of several graphic editors today is an integral part for high-quality execution of sketches and technical drawings.
The students of Groups BSHMK-21, BSH-20, BSH-21, and MgSHMK-23 throughout the meeting actively asked questions and received professional answers from employees of the company's divisions.
The teachers of the Department of Fashion and Style, together with representatives of the company and graduates who work in production, discussed the problems of the sewing industry, outlined the prospects for the development of the specialty 182 Technologies of Light Industry. And since enterprises are the first to respond to market demands and today's challenges, it is important to discuss the educational competencies that future graduates will possess. Therefore, the discussion regarding their discussion took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Also, the parties have previously agreed on the provision by the “PROMO-TEX” LLC of production facilities for the training of future specialists, with the possibility of further employment of those with higher education.
After meeting with the company’s representatives at the enterprise, the students were left full of impressions and positive emotions. They received a lot of useful information and realized the importance of studying the courses that are taught within the educational and professional programs of the specialty 182 Technologies of Light Industry.
