On November 7, 2023, a public online lecture was held by Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Art and Costume Design of KNUTD, on the topic "Development of clothing collections: stages, sources of inspiration, design practices of world fashion houses".
The lecture was attended by the students and teachers of KNUTD, as well as Chisinau State Pedagogical University named after I. Cragne (Moldova), Khmelnytsky National University, H. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, and Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
Kalyna Livianivna spoke about the methods of creating sketches of clothing models, the sources of inspiration used by designers in their work, modern design practices of Ukrainian designers, and the technologies of manufacturing and finishing clothing models of world fashion houses. Using specific examples, she examined the principles of transforming a creative source into a form of costume, which begins with copying (graphic sketches, reconstruction of a historical costume, etc.) of the original source, presented in the form of photographs, paintings, museum exhibits, etc.
To illustrate the lecture material, the lecturer used not only examples of the work of famous designers, collections of world fashion houses, but also the works of KNUTD students that they perform during their studies and develop for participation in international and national competitions.
The lecture was attended by more than 70 participants: teachers, as well as bachelor's, master's and PhD students of the Faculty of design (educational programs "Fashion design", "Design (by type)", "Design"), the Faculty of Arts and Fashion (educational programs "Modeling, design and artistic decoration of light industry products", "Design and technology of clothing products") and partner universities. The students who were in the university classrooms were connected to the lecture online.
During the lecture, the experience of training fashion designers and fashion industry specialists in educational institutions was shared, and colleagues exchanged views on teaching methods and the formation of content components of educational programs. The lecture was attended by Eugen Ryabenkiy, lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of I. Cragnea KDPU (Moldova), Elvira Bazyliuk, head of the Design Department of KhNU, Larysa Hryhorova, head of the Design Department of H. Skovoroda KhNPU, Halyna Ripka, acting head of the Department of Light Industry Technology of V. Dahl Volyn National University, and others.
We hope to continue our cooperation, the cycle of public lectures for the introduction of advanced technologies in the training of professionals in fashion design.
