Students of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD take an active part in international creative and sports competitions. So, in November this year, in Latvia, at the World Open Ballroom Championship, a 4th-year student of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Ivan Ivanyk with his partner Valeria Derkach won 9th place for Ukraine among 68 couples from 25 countries of the world.

"Preparation for competitions of this level continued throughout the year. And after my partner and I had been selected for the national team of Ukraine, training became even more intense and we had to work hard to effectively combine training and studying at the University”, said Ivan.

The right to represent Ukraine in Latvia was won by only 3 couples from our country, among them the best result was shown by Ivan and his partner.

Ivan studies under the educational program "Fashion Design", so the design of dresses, in which Ivan's partner Valeria performed, he developed under the leadership of Olena Kolosnichenko, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design. The knowledge and practical skills acquired while studying at our university as a result of studying the disciplines "Artistic design of clothes", "Design-graphics", "Artistic modeling and construction of clothes", "Complex design-projection" and others gave the opportunity to develop the design of two unsurpassed dresses for the performances – soft pink one and black one with a combination with a leopard pattern, decorated with embroidery, stones, feathers, flounces, and ruffles – create two polar moods, two images, each of which reveals the image of dance in its own way.
