On December 10, 2023, a training session took place on the picturesque slopes of the Kyiv Sea for participants of the Sports Tourism Club at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (head – Tetiana Bulhakova, Associate Professor of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design).

The students, who are members of the club, practiced the technique of moving on icy slopes using crampons and ice axes during vertical ascents, traverses, and descents. They organized ascents with the use of vertical ropes and the application of ice tools. A separate part of the training focused on honing skills in setting up a safety station using ice drills and the "screw-wing" technique, which allows remote removal of ice screws installed for protection.

Active recreation, unforgettable landscapes, and vivid impressions from the gained experience and acquired skills inspire participants of the Sports Tourism Club at KNUTD for new athletic achievements realized through participation in the Ukrainian Sports Tourism Championship in the spring-summer season of 2024.
