On 27 December, the final meeting of the Supervisory Board of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was held. Rector Ivan Gryshchenko, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, reported on the results and achievements of KNUTD in 2023 and outlined the main areas of development and tasks for 2024.
The meeting was attended by members of the Supervisory Board headed by Vasyl Kremen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In his report, the Rector outlined the main achievements in the formation of KNUTD as an internationally recognised and influential University of applied research with a high-quality educational scientific reputation, described the main tasks of forming the University staff, announced the total number of higher education students, drew attention to the financial condition and salary provisions, provided information on the implementation of the internal system of quality assurance of educational activities, information and logistical support of the educational process, research and innovation activities.
Ivan Mykhailovych noted that the University has a high professional and educational recognition, confirms its competitiveness by its positions in national and international rankings: the world QS ranking of universities in Art and Design is 201-240, the only Ukrainian university; SCImago Institutions Ranking - 714th place; CEOWORLD Ranking - 54th place among the world’s 100 best fashion and design schools; CEOWORLD Ranking - 61st place among the world’s 100 best schools of pharmacy and medicine; Webometrics world ranking 2023 - 17th place; Green Metric World ranking - 776th place; regional QS ranking of universities “Eastern Europe” - 81st place; SCOPUS citation index 2023 - h=27, 4 units higher than in 2022.
Vasyl Kremen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, noted that Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is a model university in Ukraine that is developing dynamically despite the difficult wartime conditions, keeping a high standard in terms of forming a contingent of students, developing research projects, introducing the latest energy-saving technologies and developing international cooperation, the experience of which should be shared with other higher education institutions.
Viktor Lishchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, noted the high achievements of the University in educational and scientific activities in 2023, and stressed that the KNUTD team, led by Ivan Mykhailovych, “directs its efforts to Victory”.
Anatoliy Palamarenko, member of the Supervisory Board, Hero of Ukraine, People’s Artist of Ukraine, took part in the discussion of the Rector’s report, calling Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design “the flagship of Ukrainian education”. Such high results have been achieved thanks to the quality leadership and management, professional staff, a clear development strategy, and the rapid development of KNUTD’s educational internationalisation”, Anatoliy Nesterovych summarized.
Following the meeting, the Supervisory Board members unanimously approved the work of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
