On March 8, 2024, a concert, dedicated to the birthday of Taras Shevchenko, the world-famous prose poet, thinker, painter, graphic designer, public figure, real prophet, was held in the Great Hall of Building 4 of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
His legacy is incredibly important and relevant at all times, especially today, when a new generation of Ukrainians has come face to face with Kobzar’s prophecies and instructions.
The Honored Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) took part symbolically in the concert. It is thanks to our defenders from the Armed Forces, who defend our country and protect our families every day and every night, we have the opportunity to study, work and simply live, helping each other in difficult situations and supporting our military in every possible way.
The concert traditionally began with the National Anthem of Ukraine performed by the choir of the AFU Ensemble, as well as a speech by the Rector of KNUTD, Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Ivan Gryshchenko.
Remembering Taras Shevchenko on this day, the following performed on the stage: Honored Artist of Ukraine, soloist of the AFU Ensemble Khrystyna Okhitva; “singing librarian of Ukraine” Oleh Serbin; Honored Artist of Ukraine, soloist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and the AFU Ensemble Yaroslava Rudenko; Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Kniaz, People’s Artist of Ukraine Oleh Havryliuk; Natalia Torkoniak, laureate of all-Ukrainian and international competitions and festivals; Honored Artist of Ukraine, soloist of the AFU Ensemble Serhii Yurchenko.
Their incredibly warm voices captivated everyone present in the KNUTD hall with a wave of emotions. Kind and friendly words of support for each other inspired and created an atmosphere of comfort and a feeling of a large Ukrainian family.
So, let us not forget our past, think about our future and choose an independent path to a happy life in our native Ukraine!
