As part of the educational work, students, curators and teachers of the Department of Art and Fashion Design attended the presentation of the popular research edition by Zinaida Vasina, a famous theater artist – the book “Ukrainian fashion: from the people of Tripoli to the generation of glass”, which took place on March 1, 2024 at the Museum of Kyiv History.

The main leitmotif of this meeting is the idea that this edition not only provides an overview of the fashion history, but also contains a call to young people to explore, be inspired, and create new modern Ukrainian fashion, emphasizing the distinctive features of Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian art, as traditional, formed over millennia of our history, as well as with the use of the latest design technologies.

The teachers of the Department of Art and Fashion Design Nataliya Chuprina, the head of the Department, Halyna Kokorina and Iryna Davydenko, associate professors, and students of the educational programs “Fashion Design” of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education had the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with the prerequisites, stages of creation and the printing of a topical publication that focuses on self-identification of Ukrainian culture, history, and fashion, but also to communicate with the author – a Ukrainian theater artist, ethnographic artist, and graphic designer.

Anzhelika Kornienko’s speech was marked by a significant emotional impact, emphasizing that the use of the Ruthenia font in the presented edition design, revived by the outstanding graphic artist Vasyl Chebanyk, undoubtedly enhances the understanding of the richness and uniqueness of Ukrainian heritage in the formation of world and European culture.
