Despite the current challenges and threats of martial law, 63 foreign postgraduate students are studying at the University. According to the terms of the Doctor of Philosophy in Design Agreement between Shaanxi University of Science and Technology and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, 56 1st- and 2nd-year foreign postgraduate students from the People’s Republic of China are studying under the English-language educational and scientific programme “Design”.
On 12-13 March 2024, a committee consisting of Svitlana Arabuli, Head of the International Institute for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; Yuliia Biriukova, Director of the International Institute for Academic Mobility and Cooperation, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor; Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Natalia Ostapenko, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Tetiana Krotova, Guarantor of the Design educational programme, Doctor of Arts, Professor and heads of departments: Nataliia Chuprina, Doctor of Arts, Professor; Antonina Dubrivna, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor; Tetiana Struminska, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; Olena Vasylieva, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; Danylo Kosenko, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor; and Yevhen Hula, Professor, the University held an interim assessment of postgraduate students.
The postgraduate students reported on the implementation of individual curricula and research plans for the respective years of postgraduate study. During the discussion of the reports and conclusions of the supervisors, the level of acquisition of theoretical knowledge, skills and relevant competencies in the Design educational programme was determined. Attention was paid to the assessment of the readiness of the students’ theses and research publications.
Following the discussion of the presentations and speeches, the committee made appropriate decisions on the status of the students’ individual educational and research plans and formulated recommendations for each postgraduate student for further research and educational work.
