On 14 March 2024, a meeting was held with the 4th-year postgraduate students, supervisors, heads of departments and deans to discuss the effective completion of postgraduate studies in 2024, taking into account the changes caused by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 19 May 2023 No. 502 “On Amendments to Certain Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the Training and Assessment of Applicants for Scientific Degrees”.
The meeting was moderated by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko. In her report, she drew attention to the peculiarities, changes and difficulties that await postgraduate students at the last stage of their studies – thesis defence. She paid special attention to the responsibility of postgraduate students and supervisors for the efficiency of spending public funds during martial law. Once again, she reminded them of the inadmissibility of academic integrity violation at the University.
Each postgraduate student and his/her supervisor reported on the implementation of individual study and research plans, the readiness of theses and research publications, and the results of public presentations at departmental meetings. Recommendations were formulated for each postgraduate student on the timing of submission and review of theses for defence at one-off specialised academic councils of the University.
