Academic mobility of KNUTD teachers to the University of Lisbon (Lisbon, the Republic of Portugal) took place to participate in and fulfill the conditions of the international educational grant project of the European Union “Fashion TEX European Academy for Young Designers to Study Innovative Technologies in Digital Fashion Design” supported by the “Creative Europe”. From March 4 to 8, 2024, the University researchers, project implementers – Alla Rubanka, PhD, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, Kalyna Pashkevych, PhD, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design took part in a number of events at the organizational meeting of project partners.
The “Fashion TEX” project is aimed at gaining experience and training of digital fashion students in educational institutions to improve training programs for specialists. The head of the project from KNUTD is Olha Yezhova, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style; it is performed by Nataliіa Ostapenko, PhD, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion; Kalyna Pashkevych, PhD, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design; Tetiana Struminska, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Fashion and Style; Alla Rubanka, PhD, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style; Yana Mamchenko, assistant of the Department of Fashion and Style.
The beneficiary of the project is the European Cultural Forum (Germany), in the framework of which the following are involved as international co-executors: Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania) Estonian Academy of Arts (Estonia); Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Czech Republic); Latvian Academy of Arts (Latvia); Amsterdam Academy of Fashion (Netherlands); Lodz University of Technology (Poland); West-Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau (Germany); Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (Portugal); Faculty of Textiles and Technology, University of Zagreb (Croatia); KOEFIA Fashion Academy (Italy).
The participants were warmly welcomed by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (Portugal). The partners learned about the University, classrooms, workshops, and shared their experience of training students in the fashion industry.
During all the days of the internship, the international team worked hard to identify effective ways to implement an international educational grant project.
Seminars, roundtables, and brainstorming sessions were held to discuss how digital fashion would be implemented through various project modules: Atelier courses at each fashion partner school, joint masterclasses, model shows, etc.
The results of the project will be implemented and transferred to teachers and students of partner universities in the future on the basis of a high-quality joint European curriculum.
The internship at the University of Lisbon within the FASHIONTEX “Creative Europe” project provided an opportunity to gain new experience, modern knowledge to improve the quality of education and training of fashion industry specialists. We believe that the professional opportunities and competitive potential of the future fashion designers of our University in the labor market will increase due to the innovations of digital fashion and the experience of international cooperation!
