DIALOGUE MEETING OF STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHILOLOGY AND TRANSLATION “LET’S DISCUSS” WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROGRAM “DREAMING AND ACTING”

On 14, 16, and 19 March 2024, the 2nd and 3rd-year bachelor students majoring in 035 “Philology” Anastasiia PIDHAINA (Group BAM-21), Yuliia SHEVCHENKO (Group BZVA-22), and Karolina TYMCHYK-PASICHNYK (Group BVA-22) took part in dialogue meetings within the framework of the “Let’s Discuss” project, organised by the NGO “SetUp Social Development Platform”. The event was held online on the Zoom platform with the participation of students from Brazil and Namibia. At the main stage of the meeting, called “The Iceberg of Culture”, the attendees discussed cultural and social life, problems of education, and the upbringing of children and youth.  Our students had a great opportunity to talk about Ukraine and join a large youth community.

Active youth is the driving force that will create change and make the world a better place.

The “Let’s Discuss” project for dialogue meetings between Ukrainian and foreign youth is implemented within the framework of the “Dreaming and Acting” program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by IREX in partnership with Building Ukraine Together (BUT), the Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility Development (CSR Ukraine), Making Cents International (MCI), the International Republican Institute (IRI) and Zinc Network.

This project is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The contents of this project are the sole responsibility of the NGO “SetUp Social Development Platform” and do not necessarily reflect the views of IREX, USAID, or the United States Government.

“Let’s Discuss” brings together 320 representatives of proactive youth from Brazil, Namibia, and Ukraine. It is:

– fighting stereotypes and sharing traditions;

– networking and representing your country;

– joint search for solutions to global problems;

– English language practice.

The lecturers and students of the Department of Philology and Translation are grateful to the organisers of the “Let’s Discuss” project for the opportunity to take part in the event to fight disinformation and Russian propaganda for the sake of Ukraine.
