Every year, on the 12th of March, the People’s Republic of China celebrates an official holiday – the Tree Planting Festival – according to a long-standing tradition. This tradition dates back to 1915 and was initiated by forester Ling Daoyang.
Every year, at least 500 million people take part in the holiday, which means at least half a million new trees annually.
KNUTD lecturers, who are on their business trip to the Kyiv Institute of Qilu University of Technology in China, together with their students, were also happy to join such a wonderful ecological tradition aimed at preserving the environment.
