At the invitation of the Ukrainian Educational Artspace of the city of Bari (Italy) and Maryna Osadchuk, a representative of this organization, teachers and students of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD are preparing an exhibition of traditional Ukrainian costume, which is to be held in June 2024 in Italy.
The main idea of the exhibition in Italy is the popularization of Ukrainian culture in the world and a reminder that the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine is ongoing and Ukrainians are bravely defending their lands from invaders.
On March 21, 2024, a discussion of the future exhibition concept was held as part of the meeting of the "Historical Costume Reconstruction" scientific club. The leaders of the club, Halyna Kokorina and Iryna Davydenko, Associate Professors of the Department, together with the club members, students of the "Fashion Design" educational program of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education, examined and selected clothing samples. It was decided to combine in the exhibition ensembles authentic products from the fund of the Department of the Art and Fashion Design and the works of students, made while studying and reproducing the Ukrainian folk costume.
1st, 2nd and 3rd-year students took part in the meeting of the scientific club, and the result of the work is the exhibition consisting of eight sets of women’s clothing.
We hope for a successful presentation of our scientific and creative achievements and further cooperation with the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy!
