KNUTD JOINS THE THREE SEAS INITIATIVE NETWORK FOR CULTURAL COOPERATION

Our University pursues the goal of positioning KNUTD as the best and most internationally influential university of technology with high-quality educational training and a high scientific reputation, so cultural activities and creative industries are actively developing. On the initiative and support of the University rector Ivan Gryshchenko, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Professor, KNUTD became a member of 3SICCN – Three Seas Initiative Cultural Cooperation Network.

The 3SICCN is a consortium of research and education institutions, museums, galleries, art and design universities, artists’ associations and artists who initiate cooperation in research in the field of culture and art to support mutual integration and a better understanding of the value of cultural diversity and the common identity of its members. The 3SI initiative is open and polycentric, operates in a spirit of pluralism, mutual interest, is focused on the future development of the European Union and is guided by the logic of EU structural cohesion. The project’s key areas of focus are research and improvement of educational and cultural policies and public investment related to culture in different countries.

On 9-11 April 2024, the Three Seas Initiative Summit and the conference “3SI cultural cooperation area. Art and science, public policies, education and business”. Within the framework of the 3 Seas Business Forum Vilnius 2024, Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of our University, is scheduled to sign a multilateral agreement on the establishment of a cultural cooperation network of the Three Seas Initiative.

The project beneficiaries are the University of the National Education Commission and the Three Seas Initiative Art Foundation (Krakow, Poland). Among the members of the Three Seas Initiative Network for Cultural Cooperation are the following higher education institutions and establishments: Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (Ukraine); Athens School of Fine Arts (Greece); Vytautas Magnus University (Vilnius, Lithuania); Lviv National Academy of Arts (Ukraine); National Museum of Contemporary Art MNAC (Bucharest, Romania); Slovak National Gallery, Peter Michal Bohun Gallery in Liptov Region (Slovakia); Olomouc Museum of Art – Central European Forum (Czech Republic); MUFO Museum of Photography in Krakow (Poland); acb Gallery (Budapest, Hungary); Centre for Contemporary Art (Graz, Austria); AICA International (Paris, France).

3SICCN positions the field of art, design, education and creative industries not only as a space of public diplomacy, but also as an important sector of the region’s economy, which has a significant impact on the lives of citizens and significant financial resources. The network’s activities are broad and aimed at its development, cooperation between universities and faculties in culture and art, support for academic exchanges of researchers, students and doctoral students, organisation of events in public space involving a wide audience in the presentation and interpretation of local culture in various locations in the region, etc. The culmination of the cooperation will be the Three Seas Initiative Arts Festival, which will start in 2025 and last for two years in many countries.
