KNUTD participated in the largest creative event of the year – Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week (UDIW), which took place from April 1 to 7, 2024 in Kyiv. The event was held under the auspices of World Design Weeks, a global network uniting design weeks in more than 40 cities around the world.
On April 6, 2024, KNUTD took part in the main event of the Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week – the largest Market of Modern Ukrainian Design in the Mystetskyi Arsenal. The market brought together more than 100 leading representatives from various fields of design – industrial, graphic, subject, fashion design, interior design, furniture, lighting, textiles, etc.
The exhibition stand was visited by the Rector of the University, Ivan Gryshchenko, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine; Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of KNUTD; Volodymyr Statsenko, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation of KNUTD; Liudmyla Ivanova, Director of DANA-MODA LLC, member of the Educational Investment and Technology Cluster of Light Industry in Kyiv; deans of faculties, directors of educational and scientific institutes, heads of the departments of KNUTD, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Design.
Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of the University, opened the exhibition in a festive atmosphere. In his speech, Ivan Gryshchenko said, that our University participates in the Design Week events with the aim of popularizing the achievements and promoting the developments of KNUTD in design. The University is an advanced design educational institution. For many years, it has been training design specialists: graphic and multimedia design, clothing, furniture, and interior design, etc. Today, KNUTD trains about 2,300 design students, including about 600 foreign students. Graduates of the University become professional designers whose work is known all over the world. “Nowadays, it is necessary to perceive the sphere of art and design and other creative industries not only as a space for the creation of innovative and creative products, but also as an important sector of the region’s economy, which significantly affects public life and is an effective source of the development of the state and the post-war recovery of Ukraine." – says Ivan Gryshchenko.

Our University presented educational programs of the Faculty of Design, creative works of teachers and students of the Faculty’s departments: clothing models, posters, environmental projects, product mock-ups, photo works, advertising products, etc.
During the work of the exhibition stand, career orientation work took place, familiarizing the visitors of the Design Market with the educational opportunities of the University, study conditions and prospects for students of the specialty 022 Design, the rules of admission to the educational programs of the Faculty of Design.
The most valuable opportunity of events of such a level as the Design Market is establishing and strengthening contacts with leading representatives from various fields of design. Rector Ivan Gryshchenko visited partners' stands, established professional contacts with representatives of design firms and enterprises, and defined strategic goals for the development of the design direction at the University.
Participation in events of this level provides an opportunity to gain professional insights, acquire unique communicative experience, and current information in design. This is the first participation of KNUTD in the Design Market, but we believe that it will become traditional and will contribute to the popularization of the achievements of our University in the Ukrainian and world educational and creative spaces.
