On April 2, 2024, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a meeting of students of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies and the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies with Vadym Ihnatov, Director of “LUAZ Motors, LLC” and Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Electric Vehicle Market Participants (EV-UA).
The director of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies, Igor Panasiuk, acted as moderator of the meeting on behalf of the University.
Vadym Ihnatov gave an open lecture on the topic “Electromobility – Revolution That Is Happening Right Now”. In the lecture, it was noted that electric cars are environmentally safer and more economical. This is due to the reduction of emissions of harmful gases, the lower cost of electricity compared to gasoline, and also due to the smaller number of parts in the design. However, there are also challenges associated with electric vehicles, such as a limited range on a single charge, a limited number of charging stations in some regions, and the need for disposal or secondary use of batteries. The domestic company “LUAZ Motors, LLC” is currently working on eliminating these problems. In general, electric vehicles are considered one of the key elements in the transition to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable transport system.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Students asked a lot of interesting questions about the development and production of domestic electric cars.
After the lecture, there was a discussion of educational programs in the specialties 141 Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics and 123 Computer Engineering. Vadym Ihnatov, Igor Panasiuk, Iryna Shvedchikova, Professor, guarantor of the educational program, Svitlana Demishonkova, Associate Professor, guarantor of the educational program, Dmytro Statsenko, head of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electromechanics took part in the discussion. Vadym Ihnatov provided suggestions for improving individual topics in educational components.
We are grateful to Vadym Ihnatov for the meeting and the lecture. We look forward to expanding our cooperation.
