On April 15, 2024, a regular organizational online-meeting of students and teachers of the Faculty of Design (KNUTD) with representatives of Birmingham City University (GB) was held as part of the joint international student project “Global Live Project: A Portal Connecting Universities” (Birmingham & Kyiv), which includes developments in the areas of fashion design and multimedia design.
The projects are attended by the students of the Departments of Art and Fashion Design and Multimedia Design (KNUTD), Daria Kozachishche, Maria Ponomarenko, Kira Sizko, Polina Kviatkovska, Julia Heorhieva, Anatasiia Yanchuk, Nadiia Hroshenko and others and students of the Faculty of Arts, Fashion and Media of Birmingham City University (GB)
Curators of the project are lecturers of Birmingham City University Lara Furniss, Kateryna Chrichlow and lecturers of KNUTD Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Olena Vasylieva, Head of the Department of Multimedia Design.

At the meeting, the students reported on the work done. Currently, 4 projects, the purpose of which is to create modern creative design products containing cultural values of Ukraine and the UK, are in development. The main directions of the projects: development of a virtual collection of clothes; development of characters for the game; 3D game development; development of a joint online portal.
The purpose of the meetings is to provide progress reports on the projects, brainstorm ideas, explore ways and means of addressing them, and facilitate the exchange of experiences among participants. The project to develop the collection is the idea of a compatible designer collection of clothes, combining the search for ideas with the technology of virtual display of models.

The main idea of the project to develop characters for a 2D game is the design of characters whose images contain cultural markers of Ukraine and Great Britain. In the presentation presented at the meeting, elements of traditional clothing of both countries were used in the character design.

Project participants in the development of a 3D game presented virtual 3D models of buildings for the project. The game contains elements of the architecture of cities in Ukraine and Great Britain. Specifically for this project, the students researched architectural landmarks of these countries and developed 3D models, which were presented at the meeting.

The project to develop a portal is an idea of transitions between the aforementioned projects, where each visitor can go online from one project to another, thereby traveling between virtual "worlds" created in creative collaboration. The project participants presented interesting developments in the visual part.

The project participants demonstrated a high level of professionalism and creativity, as well as the ability to work together and think innovatively. This meeting was another step in the international cooperation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, which promotes further development of cultural exchange and professional interaction. Promising and exciting projects are on the path to realization.
