On 23 April 2024, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted the V International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Economic Growth Imperatives in the Context of the Global Sustainable Development Goals”.
The conference was organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, the Academy of Financial Management, Mingachevir State University (Republic of Azerbaijan), and the University of Business (Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu w Dąbrowie Górniczej, Republic of Poland), International Academy of Applied Sciences (Lomza, Republic of Poland), Georgian National University SEU (Georgia), University of Foggia (Italy), RISEBA University of Applied Sciences (Latvia), Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice (Czech Republic), Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences.
It should be noted that one of the conference platforms was dedicated to the implementation of the ERASMUS-EDU-2021-VIRT-EXCH grant project “International Network of Virtual Youth Business Hubs” VEHUB4YOU at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design in partnership with leading European universities.
The conference was moderated by Oleksandra Olshanska, VEHUB4YOU project manager from KNUTD, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor.
Opening the conference, Oleksandra Volodymyrivna conveyed to the participants and guests sincere greetings and wishes for fruitful work, interesting discussions and creative inspiration from Ivan Mykhailovych Gryshchenko, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In her speech, she described how the University operates under martial law and the educational and scientific achievements the academic staff have made in recent years, despite the extremely difficult conditions. In her subsequent report, Oleksandra Olshanska, coordinator of the ERASMUS-EDU-2021-VIRT-EXCH project “International Network of Virtual Youth Business Hubs” VEHUB4YOU, presented the status of its implementation and main results.
In particular, an important event that became one of the stages of the project’s implementation was the signing on 29 March 2024 of partnership agreements on cooperation and accession to the International Network of Virtual Youth Business Hubs between the coordinator of its creation – Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, represented by the Rector of the University, Academician Ivan Gryshchenko, and the project partners – general secondary, vocational pre-university and higher education institutions of Ukraine, represented by 18 directors of general secondary, vocational pre-university and higher education institutions present at the ceremony. Also, project coordinator Oleksandra Olshanska drew attention to the extremely wide geography of participants, future project partners, educational institutions of Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Pereiaslav, Dnipro, Poltava, Boryspil, Kremenchuk, etc.
The conference participants, who are partners of the VEHUB4YOU project, were represented by the University of Foggia (Italy), RISEBA University of Applied Sciences (Latvia), and Mingachevir State University (Azerbaijan). The Dean noted that the conference was held in a hybrid format. More than 265 participants have registered to participate – academic staff, doctoral students, postgraduate students, and students from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Italy, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Georgia, and the Czech Republic.
The project coordinator from the University of Foggia, Italy, Pierpaolo MAGLIOCCA, Professor of the Department of Management, welcomed all the participants and wished them fruitful work and interesting discussions.
Zane RASEVSKA, PhD, Head of the Centre for Lifelong Learning at RISEBA University (Riga, Latvia), in her speech, noted the importance of the VEHUB4YOU project and gave a brief overview of the achievements of RISEBA University in the development of the startup movement and the work of the creative business incubator, which she also manages.
In addition, the conference participants were greeted by the Rector of the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Lomza (Poland), Dr Ireneusz ŻUCHOWSKI, PhD.
Samira Akhmadova, VEHUB4YOU project coordinator from Mingachevir State University, made an interesting and informative presentation. In particular, Ms Samira reported on the results of the project in Azerbaijan, the creation of the VEHUB4YOU International Network of Virtual Youth Business Hubs consisting of more than 20 educational institutions.
Georgyi Gavtadze, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Georgian National University SEU, Doctor of Economics, Professor at Akakia Tsereteli State University, Georgia, welcomed the participants and guests and stressed the importance of such an event for the establishment of the international image, recognition and support of Ukrainian higher education and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design in particular.
Among the honoured guests of the conference were: Mykhailo NEPRAN, First Vice President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Honoured Economist of Ukraine;
Yuriy KABAKOV, Director of the Certification Body of Personnel of the Ukrainian Quality Association, PhD in Engineering;
Vladyslav BUDIAKOV, Head of the Department for State Regulation of Turnover in the Virtual Assets Market of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, PhD in Economics;
Yurii BUHRYM, Head of Medium Business, Sense Bank, JSC;
Viktor HRENIUK, General Director of the State Enterprise “Zhytomyr Liquor and Vodka Distillery Factory”;
Yevhen OVCHARENKO, Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Management and Marketing at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
Olha Chernysh and Tetiana Nefedova’s report on European business planning standards was interesting. It was noted that in international practice, the most recognised and influential institutions that have their own idea (requirements) for the content of a business plan are such world-famous consulting structures as: UNIDO, KPMG, EBRD, TACIS, IFC, BFM Group.
Nataliia RADIONOVA, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, presented a report on “The impact of megatrends of the world society on the development of audit in Ukraine”, where she presented the main global megatrends, in particular digitalisation, mobility and knowledge culture; sustainability, globalisation and security; gender changes, health, social responsibility, etc.
Kyrylo STORCHAK, a master student from the National Aviation University, took part in the conference with a presentation on “Marketing in the context of digital technologies development during the war”. He stressed that digital technologies can contribute to economic development and support businesses during the war.
After a short break, the participants continued their work on the conference platforms online. Many interesting and thorough presentations were made on the current problems of the functioning of Ukraine’s socio-economic system in the context of a full-scale war and the prospects for its recovery in the post-war period.
In general, the V International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Economic Growth Imperatives in the Context of the Global Sustainable Development Goals” was held at a high scientific, practical and organisational level, was quite informative and useful, as was repeatedly noted in the speeches of participants and guests. Based on the results of the work, a collection of abstracts will be published in electronic format.
