On the initiative of the teachers of the Department of Philology and Translation of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies, a prominent "Business Foreign Language Week "Investing in the Future" was held at KNUTD from April 22 to 26, 2024. As part of the Week's activities, the Department's academic staff organized the work of English and German language sections, listened to student presentations, held various thematic classes, competitions and a quiz for the best knowledge of the business environment.
On April 23, 2024, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philology and Translation Svitlana Lebedieva held a communication event "Hedging in Business English" in the group of BШМК 1-21. An undergraduate student Alisa Konstantinenko presented an interesting report on linguistic means that allows expressing different degrees of categoricality in oral and written speech and promote correct and moderate communication.
On April 22, 2024, Olena Yufereva, Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation, held a creative seminar My Business Idea for the БДГ1-23 group. The students presented projects of future startups and shared their impressions of the work of an already established independent business. The young designers intend to develop creative industries, design new graphic design training programs, and introduce modern technologies, for which they need to improve their English communication skills.
On April 22, 2024, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philology and Translation Svitlana Honcharenko organized a thematic evening "Choosing a Promising Niche for Your Own Business" for students of the БДм1-21 group, where they discussed presentations of successful student business projects.
On April 22, 2024, the БAM-22 group held a class on Business Communications, prepared and conducted by Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation Ksenia Kuhai.
Thanks to thorough preparation and careful research, the students presented fascinating presentations and reports on business communication, namely: the impact of social media on business communication strategies, strategies for overcoming communication barriers, etiquette of professional emails, active listening in business communication, the role of non-verbal communication in business interaction, the development of effective presentation skills and technologies for improving business communication.
The class was held in a dynamic atmosphere. The students shared their ideas, actively discussed current issues of ensuring the effectiveness of business communication, shared their experiences and solved problematic tasks.
On April 25, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation Maryna Vyshnevska held a thematic lesson in the БAM-21 group on the preparation of a bibliography for a scientific paper.
On April 26, 2024, as part of the "Investing in the Future Business Foreign Languages Week," Tetiana Ketova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Philology and Translation, held a thematic lesson on "Official and Unofficial Letters" with students of the БAM-22, БД-22, and БШMK-22 groups, who are studying the German language discipline of free choice. The students learned the etiquette formulas used at the beginning and end of business letters and emails, the basic rules for using greeting formulas. Particular attention was paid to preventing mistakes when using greeting formulas. The undergraduate students practiced writing business letters and responses to them as part of the mini-project "Letters of Invitation to City Cultural Events".
On April 22, 2024, the Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation of National Transport University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Lesia Shevchuk gave an open lecture for KNUTD applicants on European Integration Processes in Ukraine in the Field of Science and Vocational Teacher Education: Implementation of Vienna and German Experiences. The lecturer introduced the students to the world and Ukrainian experience of implementing programs to train competitive modern teachers. All the participants have got convinced that quality education is an urgent need for a civilized society, and that a teacher has always been, is, and will always be the main guide of any successful educational environment.

During the Business Foreign Languages Week, the teachers of the Department of Philology and Translation conducted a quiz on business environment, which helped to raise students' awareness of the figures who contributed to the formation and economic development of business and the work of various successful companies in the modern world.The quiz was attended by students of the groups БДм-22, БДм2-23, БДм3-23-22, БІП-23, БП -23, ББТ-21, БП-23, БТУР-20, БХТ-20, ББТ-20, БШ-21, БАМ-22, БД-22, БШМК-22, БІТ2-22, БДГ3-23, БІСТ-22, БД-23 and БІТП-22.
The team of the БДo3-23 group took the first place, the second place - the team of the БДM3-23 group, and the third place was shared by the teams of the БМБ-23 and БПM-23 groups.
On April 22-26, 2024, KNUTD higher education students took part in the translation contest from Ukrainian into English of the text "What is a good business idea". Students of the groups БДм-22, БДм2-23, БДм3-23-22, БІП-23, БП -23, ББТ-21, БП-23, БТУР-20, БХТ-20, ББТ-20, БШ-21, БАМ-22, БД-22, БШМК-22, БІТ2-22, БДГ3-23, БІСТ-22, БМРД-23 competed for the title of the best translator.
The jury determined that the prize-winners were as follows: Ilya Shcherbakov (БМРД -23) and Alisa Galagan (БAM-21), II place - Myroslava Molochko (БМН-21) and Yevhenia Svidro (БФ-23), III place - Danylo Legeza (БІП-23), Bohdan Tymchenko (БІМ-23) and Timur Kravchenko (БМДЛ1-22).
The round table Business English is a key to success was held at KNUTD on April 25, 2024. At this meeting, students presented interesting projects-presentations in which they shared their business ideas, as well as expressed their opinions on promising professions and startups related to their specialties.
Yelyzaveta Paladii (БДг1-23), Eva Stoyanenko (БДг-23), Oleksandra Khramova, Myroslava Molochko (БМН-21), Yuliia Kliuchevska (БШМК-21), Valeriia Tonkovyd (БДм-22), Iryna Sidliar (БДм -22), Anastasiia Stelmakh, Anna Razinkina and Diana Stepanenko (БДм -23), and Viktoriia Pena (БДо -23) made informative presentations.
The summery of the Business Foreign Languages Week "Investing in the Future" shows that our students are motivated to learn foreign languages and are successful in their studies and future professional activities.
