On April 25 and 26, 2024, the Faculty of Design at KNUTD was visited by instructors from the Department of Urban Studies and Urban Design of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova). The visit took place within the framework of a bilateral agreement on scientific and educational cooperation between KNUTD and TUM.
On April 25, 2024, the head of the Department of Urban Studies and Urban Design at TUM, PhD Liliana Platon, along with the instructors Inga Matskan-Lysenko and Alexander Kozachenko, participated in the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues of Modern Design". Liliana Platon delivered a welcome speech at the plenary session, and TUM lecturers presented reports at the conference sessions on the platforms "Trends in Art and Fashion Design" and "Prospects for the Development of Architectural Environment Design".
As part of the conference, exhibitions of educational design projects of students from the "Interior Design" program at TUM and exhibitions of creative works in the field of accessory design by instructor Inga Matskan-Lysenko were organized.
After the conference, PhD Danylo Kosenko, the head of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design at KNUTD, along with instructors Oleksandra Shmelova-Nesterenko and Natalia Ryshkevych, conducted a tour of Kyiv for the colleagues from Moldova. The guests explored the historical and contemporary architecture, park art, and landscape design of our city with great interest.
On April 26, 2024, a working meeting was held between Liliana Platon and Dean of the Faculty of Design at KNUTD, Kalyna Pashkevych, D. Tec. Sc., Professor, and Head of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design, Danylo Kosenko, PhD, along with other faculty members. The colleagues discussed the directions for further cooperation within the existing agreement between KNUTD and TUM, as well as the possibilities of joint participation in Erasmus+ projects. An additional protocol to the Agreement on Cooperation between KNUTD and TUM was signed, specifying the areas of cooperation between the Faculty of Design and the Department of Urban Studies and Urban Design at TUM.
On the same day, the instructors from TUM conducted a workshop on glass painting for students of the "Environmental Design" and "Graphic Design" programs. Inga Matskan-Lysenko talked about various techniques of creating objects from colored glass, their use in interior decoration, furniture making, lighting equipment, and more. Under the guidance of Moldovan instructors, students of KNUTD enthusiastically created artworks using stained glass painting techniques.
