It has already become a tradition at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design to hold a Job Fair and Career Day in spring. This year, our University hosted the IX VACANCY FAIR, which was solemnly opened by the Rector of our University Ivan Gryshchenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
On May 9, 2024, the Career Day of the Faculty of Design was held. The students had the opportunity to continue communication with employers and partners who acquainted them with the competencies that a future designer should have and which specialists are in demand in the labor market today.
The event was moderated by Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
Kateryna Sanina, a business coach for interior designers and founder of Design Advice and Help Club, made a speech at the event. Ms. Sanina spoke about the necessary skills for a designer that will help them find a job and a successful career.
The future designers were interested to hear from Oleksii Yasakov, Director of X-Ray Film LLC, a company that cooperates with graphic and multimedia designers. Among the main personal qualities of a successful designer, Oleksii named discipline, meeting deadlines and knowledge of modern programs. For successful employment, he advised young designers to have a portfolio of their own work and post their resumes on professional platforms on the Internet.
Kostiantyn Kozhemiaka, Director of ArtHuss Publishing House, spoke about the directions of development of the printing market in Ukraine and current vacancies.
In his speech, Bohdan Kass, a fashion designer and owner of the KASS fashion brand, emphasized the importance of gaining basic knowledge at the university in the chosen specialty. As a graduate of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, Bohdan confirmed the high level of quality of education at KNUTD, that the knowledge and skills he gained allowed him to establish his own brand and create jobs for others.
The meeting was attended by Olha Chernysh, director of the KNUTD Labor and Career Center. She told the audience about the activities of the KNUTD Labor and Career Center and provided links to social networks to find current vacancies.
The students received answers to their questions about employment and had the opportunity to talk to successful representatives of the design industry in Ukraine.
