In April-May 2024, the Department of Graphic Design held a series of events with students of the first (bachelor's) level of the EP "Graphic Design" for the International Day of Environmental Knowledge. The organizers of the event were Yevhen Gula, Head of the Department of Graphic Design, Professor, curator Oksana Maznichenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Graphic Design, Natalia Chuprina, Professor, guarantor of the EP "Graphic Design", curator Daria Kurovska, assistant of the Department of Graphic Design.
On April 26, 2024, a discussion with the students was held. Head of the Department of Graphic Design, Professor Yevhen Gula began the conversation by emphasizing that educational institutions play a major role in the formation of environmental awareness of the younger generation. He noted that universities should educate not only professionals in their fields, but also ecologically conscious citizens.
Curator Oksana Maznichenko, addressing future designers, emphasized the importance of using ecological materials in their projects. Young designers are also responsible for the state of the environment and for the overcoming consumerist attitude towards nature.
Curator Daria Kurovska assured the students that even small daily actions are important: sorting garbage, using products from secondary raw materials, economical consumption of water and electricity. She invited the students to join the Earth Day Eco-Quest organized by the KNUTD Student Council. There everyone can test their knowledge of ecology and natural sciences, as well as have a good time with friends in the fresh air.
At the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, teachers and students raise the issue of environmental awareness during the performance of qualification works, practical training, and course works.
The students of the Department under the leadership of Yevhen Gula, Professor, Oleksandra Kolisnyk, Professor, Oksana Maznichenko, Associate Professor, Oleksandr Krotevych, Associate Professor, Sviatoslav Podlevskyi, Associate Professor, Alla Osadcha, senior teacher, prepared a number of posters on environmental topics.
