On May 22, 2024, a round table "Processing Professionalization in Energy Efficiency" was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with the participation of experts from the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the National Qualifications Agency.

The event was co-organized by the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, and the International Agency for Professional Qualifications.

The participants discussed the problems of training and certification of energy auditors. The event was moderated by Andrii Shevtsov, Professor, Director of the International Agency for Professional Qualifications.

The event began with an opening speech by Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologіes and Design, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Antonina Sityuk, chief specialist of the Energy Efficiency Department of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of high-quality training of specialists in energy audits of buildings, processes, transport and international integration.

Yulia Martyn, head of the Secretariat of the National Qualifications Agency, spoke about the development of professional qualifications and qualification centers for energy efficiency.

In his speech, the head of the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine, Vadym Lytvyn, emphasized that the Qualification Centers that conduct the certification of energy auditors of buildings should very carefully check the knowledge of potential energy auditors in order to be sure that such a specialist will be able to perform his work at a high level.

Volodymyr Kovtunets, a leading researcher of the International Agency for Professional Qualifications, shared his experience of awarding the professional qualification of energy auditor of buildings at the Qualification Center in the field of energy. A psychometric analysis of the evaluation of learning results proved the importance of various measures for the objective assessment of students: testing, performance of a professional task, as well as the importance of using open-type test tasks.

Valery Deshko, Professor of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and Iryna Shvedchikova, Professor of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design shared their experience of training energy auditors of buildings.

Vasyl Zhelikh, Professor of Lviv Polytechnic National University, spoke about international cooperation in training specialists in energy efficiency as part of the Erasmus+ project.

After the reports were published, a discussion of the entire set of problems of implementing professionalization processes in energy efficiency took place. Anatoly Chernyavskyi, director of the Center for Training Energy Managers of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Conservation and Energy Management of National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", took an active part in the discussion.

Ihor Panasiuk, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies of KNUTD and Mykhailo Sheremet, head of the educational and scientific laboratory "Energy Efficiency Center" of KNUTD, also took part in the work of the round table.

The participants of the round table noted the high professional level of the event and agreed to regularly hold meetings to discuss ways of implementing professionalization processes in energy efficiency.
