On May 22, 2024, an online lecture was held on the topic "Analysis and forecasting of fashion trends. How social trends affect fashion" by Eugen Rebenykiy, a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University of Chișinău (Moldova), organized by the Department of Art and Fashion Design, KNUTD.

The event was moderated by Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

The lecture was attended by more than 70 participants: bachelor and master students and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Design, KNUTD, under the educational programs "Fashion Design", "Design (by types)", "Design", lecturers of KNUTD, as well as students and lecturers of the Department of Light Industry Technology of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, and others.

Eugen Rebenykiy – a fashion designer with many years of experience, a lecturer, a blogger, a manager of student collections who are winners of international competitions – shared his own experience and knowledge on forecasting fashion trends for the development of promising clothing collections.

The lecturer talked about the types of forecasts in the fashion industry, methods of developing forecasts, and factors that influence the formation of fashion trends. It was interesting for students to learn about trendsetters and trendhunters, about the activities of the forecast bureau, and the creation of trend books. The lecturer also shared his own predictions regarding the next season's trends in textiles, clothing forms, colors, details and the use of innovative technologies.
