WORKSHOP FROM A FOREIGN PARTNER - HOTEL CHAIN MANAGER THOMAS STRELA (SWITZERLAND) FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS DESIGN AND THE INSTITUTE OF CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

In May 2024, an online lecture was held for students of the Faculty of Management and Business Design and students of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries by a foreign business partner, hotel chain manager Thomas Strela, hotel manager at B&B Hotels Switzerland GmbH, a chain of more than 400 hotels in countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Brazil and Switzerland. The lecture, entitled "Hospitality Industry Management", focused on the organisation of service delivery in the hotel business. Mr Thomas Strela shared his views on innovations in the hospitality industry and brand management strategies in the digital era. The students were given the opportunity to understand how a global network with a multi-million audience of satisfied customers maintains high quality services at a reasonable price, as well as what knowledge and skills future leaders of the tourism and hospitality industry need to develop successfully.

During the lecture, the speaker emphasised that hospitality management is a system of managing the process of providing services to people based on the principles of humanism, tolerance, personalisation of the hospitality product, respect for cultural diversity, priority of meeting human needs for quality recreation, restoration of physical and spiritual strength, and cultural self-development. Particular attention was paid to the mechanism of managing the behaviour of hospitality consumers.

The topic of the lecture aroused great interest among the audience. In the end, the speaker answered all the questions. Thank you for the useful information.
