SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENTS OF KNUTD WITHIN THE WORK OF THE EDUCATIONAL INVESTMENT-TECHNOLOGY CLUSTER OF LIGHT INDUSTRY

On May 22, 2024, a meeting of the Educational Investment - Technology Cluster of Light Industry in Kyiv was held with representatives of business and the Kyiv City Administration.

The event was dedicated to the presentation of scientific developments of Cluster representatives. Representatives of the Cluster were present at the meeting: Ivan Hryshchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Cluster Council, Rector of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; Andrii Prokhorovskyi, deputy chairman of the cluster council, director of RA.DA LLC; Liudmyla Ivanova, director of "DANA-MODA" LLC; Oleh Pivovar, director of the Scientific and Production Company "Hydrostyle" LLC; Valerii Rybas, director of TK-FURNITURA LLC; Tymofii Lipskyi, director of the FOP Lypskyi Tymofii Mykolayovych; Viktor Lishchuk, cluster coordinator, professor of the Department of Fashion Technology; Olha Haranina, secretary of the cluster, head of the department of fashion technology. Among the invited guests, the following were present: Oksana Zamyshliak, deputy head of the Department of Industry and Regular Policy, head of the industry department of the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the executive body of the KMDA; Nataliia Aminova, HR director of TK-DOMASHNIY TEXTYL LLC Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko, vice-rector of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design; Volodymyr Statsenko, vice-rector of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design; Liudmyla Halavska, head of the research department; Nataliia Ostapenko, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion; Borys Zlotenko, dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies and invited guests.

The meeting was opened by Ivan Hryshchenko, who emphasized that KNUTD is one of the top five universities in Kyiv and this is a confirmation of the conscientious work of the entire team. Ivan Mykhailovych noted that without fruitful work on all fronts, it will be very difficult for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to win. We work for Victory, and our front is educational and scientific areas.

 

“The academic year 2023/2024 is coming to an end,” Ivan Hryshchenko noted, “with the summing up of student scientific, technological and design works for this period. Each event held by KNUTD confirms the high qualifications of its representatives. For example, on May 20, 2024, the exhibition “The Art of Shoe Design and Manufacturing” was opened in the Art Space of the University and a show of student shoe collections was held, and on May 25, the XXIV International Competition Of Young Fashion Designers "Pecherski Kashtany" will be held.

 

And the main task today is cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ivan Hryshchenko emphasized that the roundtable, which is held as part of the meeting of the Educational Investment - Technology Cluster of Light Industry, is dedicated to showing samples of the leading light industry cluster's production facilities that work for the defense capability of our country. These enterprises have demonstrated their sustainability and knowledge intensity during their cooperation with representatives of departmental structures.

Among these enterprises:

  • "Hydrostyle" LLC;
  • "RA.DA" LLC;
  • "DANA-MODA" LLC;
  • "Ukrainian Footwear Alliance" LLC.

The cluster is actively involved in the creation of a new generation of innovative wound healing products, dressings, functional textiles and products for the needs of military doctors, hospitalists and civilians. The cluster members use 3D printing to develop camouflage coatings and surfaces for military use. The cluster cooperates with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and receives direct instructions from the NABU.

Ivan Hryshchenko, thanked the members of the cluster council: Oleh Pivovar, Director of Hydrostyl Research and Production Company LLC, and Valerii Rybas, Director of TK-FURNITURE LLC.

 

The cluster council meeting was addressed by: Oleh Pivovar, Andrii Prokhorovskyi and Liudmyla Ivanova. They emphasized the importance of each manufacturer's contribution to Ukraine's defense capability.

Oleh Pivovar, presented products used by special military units, in particular: TRILAM, a dry suit designed for underwater technical work and techno-diving, including long and deep dives; a pontoon-type parachute; M-TAC DRY BAG, a waterproof, gas-tight sealed bag with a built-in MOLLE system to ensure the transportation of things and special equipment both on land and underwater; MEMBRANE M-MASS dry suit, an assault suit designed for special forces and naval forces involved in surface operations; DIVER-MAST, a separate type of diving suit consisting of a mono-jumpsuit and a mini-jumpsuit (jacket); HEATERPRO THINSULATE STRONG insulation for dry diving suits; TRILAM dry diving suit designed for underwater technical work and technodiving, including long and deep dives.

 

Liudmyla Ivanova, presented the range of military uniforms manufactured at the production facilities. Liudmyla Ivanova noted that during the full-scale invasion, the company manufactured the following products (including free of charge): camouflage suits for scouts, insulated pants, military shirts, military T-shirts with a seal, winter jackets, covers for ballistic bags, covers for turnstiles, seat covers, blankets, body armor, attack vests, etc.

Liudmyla Ivanova noted: “We have transformed into what we are doing now. We always listen to the needs of the military and introduce new developments. We improve the uniforms and give them special properties. Everything is done to make the uniforms functional, comfortable and beautiful.”

Liudmyla Ivanova emphasized that the next vector of production development is the manufacture of parachutes, one of the models of which was presented at the meeting by Ihor Ivanov, a graduate of KNUTD.

In his speech, Valerii Rybas emphasized the importance of the educational component for the successful functioning of the business. In his opinion, specialists with in-depth knowledge of materials science, finishing and chemical fiber production are extremely important today to help rebuild a competitive country.

Oksana Zamyshliak told the audience that it is important to support business in Ukraine, so government agencies offer low-interest loans.

Today, our country is facing challenging tasks. That is why new members are being attracted to further develop the cluster and support its effective work. Thus, on May 22, 2024, a new representative joined the cluster council TK-Domashniy Textyl LLC, which was introduced at the meeting by Nataliia Aminova, HR Director.

Currently, the production capacities of Ukraine are aimed at protecting our country. Cluster representatives are no exception. The productions of cluster members and scientists of KNUTD work together and provide support to the Armed Forces.
