On May 17-19, 2024, Olena Yevseitseva, Head of the Department of Marketing and Communication Design, took part in a seminar of marketing and advertising teachers "Implementation of the topic of combating discrimination in advertising in the educational process of educational institutions", organized by the Industrial Gender Committee on Advertising and the Ukrainian Marketing Association.
The seminar brought together teachers from 15 regions of Ukraine, representatives of the State Tax Service of Ukraine and lawyers.
The speakers in the event’s rich program were:
- Iryna Lylyk, Head of the Industrial Gender Committee on Advertising, President of the NGO "Ukrainian Marketing Association"
- Project Coordinator of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine
- Heads of Regional Representations of the Industrial Gender Committee on Advertising
- Chief Specialist of the Department for Control over Advertising and Compliance with Anti-Tobacco Legislation of the State Tax Service of Ukraine
- Deputy Director for Legal Affairs at Publicis Groupe Ukraine
- Member of the Supervisory Board of the UAC on GR, legal regulation of advertising activities, analysis of draft laws related to the advertising sector.
Together, the experts analyzed current trends in the advertising market and discussed the measures to combat gender discrimination in times of war, sharing best practices and scientific findings. As a result of the seminar, students in 18 leading Ukrainian universities will discuss the concept of gender discrimination in advertising in their classes, learn to identify discriminatory advertising, and understand its consequences for brands and society.
The seminar was organized by the Industrial Gender Committee on Advertising in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine.
