MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB "STUDENT MARKETING CLUB ‘M-TEAM’" AT THE DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION DESIGN

On May 23, 2024, a regular meeting of the student scientific club "Student Marketing Club ‘M-Team'" entitled "Implementation of the discrimination topic in advertising in the educational process of educational institutions" was held.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:

- powers of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in advertising;

- control over advertising and the means of its distribution, in particular on the Internet and social networks;

- practice of applying to the court, cooperation with public organizations to identify discriminatory (sexist) advertising;

- the results of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection's work in 2023 on controlling discriminatory advertising based on gender.

It is worth emphasizing that the principles of decent and socially responsible representation of people, especially when it comes to gender roles and stereotypes, have always been in the focus of attention of European institutions and international organizations such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the United Nations, when developing strategies, policies, programs, guidelines, conducting research and preparing reports, etc.

Thanks to the report and promotional materials kindly presented by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Ukrainian Association of Marketers of Ukraine, the students majoring in 075 "Marketing" gained interesting and useful experience in regulating advertising products in accordance with international and national standards.
