ROUND TABLE WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF STAKEHOLDERS AND HIGHER EDUCATION ACQUIRES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND BUSINESS CONSULTING

The Department of Finance and Business Consulting of the Faculty of Management and Business Design of KNUTD regularly holds meetings with stakeholders to improve educational programmes and raise the quality of training in finance, banking, insurance and the stock market.

On May 24, 2024, as part of the World Banker's Day, a roundtable discussion was held with stakeholders from employers and higher education seekers to discuss the educational programmes of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, specialty 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market" of the first (bachelor's), second (master's), third (doctoral) levels.  The participants discussed the bachelor's degree programme in Finance, Banking and Insurance, the master's degree programme in Financial and Investment Business Consulting, and the PhD programme in Finance, Banking and Insurance. The event was held offline.

The event was moderated by Iryna Tarasenko, Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor.  Iryna Tarasenko delivered an opening speech to the participants of the event, emphasising the importance of involving stakeholders in the development of educational programmes to improve their quality and content in line with the needs of the labour market.

The discussion was attended by the representatives of stakeholders from among employers, academic staff of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, which trains specialists in the specialty 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market":

 

Volodymyr Kostin, Head of the Group of Branches of the Kyiv Regional Centre of JSC CB FUIB;

Alisa Stepanian, Head of the Kyiv Branch of JSC CB FUIB;

Iryna Tarasenko, Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor, guarantor of the master's degree programme "Financial and Investment Business Consulting";

Andrii Zolkover, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, guarantor of the EPP "Finance, Banking and Insurance";

Yulia Rusina, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, guarantor of the bachelor's degree programme in Finance, Banking and Insurance;

Dmytro Kovalenko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting;

Mykola Matiukha, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting;

Olha Bunda, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting.

Iryna Tarasenko, Yulia Rusina, and Andrii Zolkover, guarantors of the educational programmes, introduced the stakeholders to the basic aspects of the educational programmes, goals, educational components, and programme results achieved through the formation of general and professional competencies of higher education seekers.

During the discussion of the educational programmes, Volodymyr Kostin, Head of the Group of Branches of the Kyiv Regional Centre of JSC CB FUIB, stressed the importance of the practical aspect in the educational components of the educational programmes of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, specialty 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market" of the first (bachelor's), second (master's), third (doctoral) levels;  Alisa Stepanian, Head of the Kyiv branch of JSC CB FUIB, emphasised the positive direction of the programme, the availability of ECs, within which students study the basics of banking, which is important for future employment in the specialty. The Department's stakeholders shared their own experience in the banking sector and generally praised the content of the EPs, as well as provided suggestions for their improvement.

As a result of the offline meeting, a number of proposals from the stakeholders were agreed upon to improve the educational, professional and scientific programmes, which will be taken into account during their modernisation.
